Salman Khan, Shah Rukh hug again at an award show

Salman_Khan_copyNew Delhi, Jan 17: Bollywood’s two warring superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan hugged for the second time at an award show in Mumbai on Thursday (January 16).

Salman Khan, who was hosting the Star Guild Awards 2014, had earlier hugged his former friend-turned-foe Shah Rukh Khan at an iftaar party last year ending their five-years of rivalry.

According to reports, Salman Khan first congratulated Shah Rukh Khan on the mega success of ‘Chennai Express’ to which Bollywood’s Badshah, who was seated in the front row, responded with a wave. Further more Salman Khan also made Shah Rukh Khan say ‘Jai Ho’ (Salman’s upcoming movie), which the King Khan jovially obliged to.

The two hugged each other when Deepika Padukone was on stage to present the Entertainer of the Year award to SRK. Shah Rukh Khan, while accepting the award, said, it feels special to get this award in the company of Salman who is one of the greatest entertainers the country has ever seen.

Despite last year’s thaw at the iftaar party, the two Khans have never been seen together at any public event. Salman Khan had himself said on Koffee With Karan that SRK and he can never be ‘best of friends now.’

Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan also stressed that there cannot be love between his son and superstar Shah Rukh Khan as they are “rivals”.

Salman and Shah Rukh Khan had never spoken to each other ever since their brawl at the birthday party of Katrina Kaif in 2008. Bollywood’s two biggest stars have in the past taken digs at each other; sometimes directly, and obliquely.

Mar 11: The shooting of Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai has been completed, and the film will now release on schedule.

If one recalls, the film went on the floors in the first week of November 2019 and was supposed to be Salman’s fastest completed film. However, the movie faced a variety of roadblocks — It was first to be wrapped in the first week of February, “But Salman went off to his Panvel farmhouse after the release of Dabangg 3 and spent a while there ushering in his birthday,” a source reveals.

“Then, the extension of the show Bigg Boss 13 by five weeks also turned out to be another speed breaker. Then, Salman wanted to make sure that the film was being made as good as what his audiences wanted on Eid. He made sure that his director Prabhudeva got what he wanted from the performers and didn’t want to rush him.

"Additionally, the Azerbaijan schedule of the film also got cancelled as Salman did not want to take any chances with the cast and crew with the lurking Covid 19, and rescheduled the shoot in India. This is now complete, barring any patchwork that might emerge later,” our source adds.

Radhe is slated to be an Eid release, which will clash with Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb.

Kochi, Jan 6: A trial court on Monday framed charges against Malayalam film actor Dileep and other accused in the case of alleged abduction and molestation of a south Indian actress in 2017.

The actor and nine other accused were present in the additional special sessions court in Ernakulamwhen the charges were framed against them.

All of them have denied the charges.

On Saturday, the Court had dismissed a plea filed by Dileep, seeking to exclude him from the list of accused.

The Court had admitted the prosecution argument that there is prima facie evidence against him in the crime and dismissed the plea of the actor, who is eighth accused in the case.

The court had also not allowed a plea by the actor to grant him 10 days time to file the appeal in a higher court in the light of the Supreme Court order in November 2019 that the trial should be completed in six months.

The court is hearing the case in-camera.

On December 19, Dileep, along with his lawyers and a technical expert, had examined the contents of the electronic records at the closed room of the court.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had directed that the actor be allowed to inspect the records to enable him to present an effective defence during the trial.

In February 2017, the actress was allegedly abducted and molested by the accused.

Seven people, including the key accused 'Pulsar' Suni were arrested in connection with the actress' abduction case.

There are 10 accused in the case.

The entire act had allegedly taken place in a moving vehicle, which was filmed by the accused to blackmail her.

Dileep was subsequently arrested and arrayed as an accused in connection with offences under provisions of the Indian Penal Code and IT Act.

The top court had directed that the trial in case be concluded expeditiously, preferably within six months from the date of the judgement.

A woman judge is hearing the case.

In February 2019, the High Court, while considering a plea seeking to transfer the case to a Sessions Court headed by a woman judge to conduct the trial, had ordered the CBI special court Judge-III Ernakulam Honey M Varghese to complete the trial expeditiously.
