Salman: Shah Rukh was like a younger brother, I really loved that guy

December 2, 2013

Shah_RukhNew Delhi, Dec 2: Seriously, these two should hug and make up already. A lot has been written about the famous fight that Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan got into one night in the presence of Aamir Khan and other heavyweights from the industry. Salman's recent Ramadan greetings to Shah Rukh have also been discussed threadbare in the media as a gesture of reconciliation.

On the latest season of Koffee With Karan, Salman, sounding slightly wistful, admitted that there's a lot of water under the bridge now and he will never see Shah Rukh the way he used to before.

"Two guys got along fine and one night they didn't, he (Shah Rukh) could have come to me the same night and finished it (the fight) off and he chose not to. He passes my house four or five times every day, he could have just come and rung the doorbell," Salman told host Karan Johar in the debut episode of the season.

Salman, who debuted in the cinema industry earlier than Shah Rukh, said he held the latter in deep respect and defended him to those who tried to create a rift between the two.

"If people think they can bitch about him and win brownie points, they are very wrong. Because I spent a lot of time with him we may not see eye to eye, but I have really liked the guy. If people think they can speak bad about him and get away with it, I don't permit that at all," he said.

A playful banter about his love life turned serious as Salman, now 48, said he will keep the memories he had of better times with Shah Rukh.

"I realise we'll never be best of friends again but I have a lot of respect for him. I really loved that guy, he's like a younger brother, since I came (to Bollywood) in first and he's my sister's friend and Sangita's (Bijlani) friend. God has given him a lot, mashallah, he doesn't need me and I don't need him. I will keep those memories."

Los Angeles, May 24: Filmmaker Frank Marshall, one of the producers behind Jurassic World: Dominion, says the forthcoming film is not a conclusion of the franchise.

Colin Trevorrow, who rebooted Steven Spielberg's blockbuster Jurassic Park franchise with 2015's Jurassic World, is back on the director's chair after sitting out on second movie Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018).

Asked about the upcoming movie, Marshall told Collider: "It's the start of a new era."

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are coming back for the third film, which will also feature original stars of 1993's Jurassic Park -- Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill.

The producer also revealed how he sees the film franchise extending into the future.

"The dinosaurs are now on the mainland amongst us, and they will be for quite some time, I hope," Marshall said.

The film was three weeks into production when it was shut down over coronavirus concerns, but the producer said the team has the sets built in London and will be "back in business" once they have guidelines from the British government.

Dominion is still slated to be released on its scheduled date of June 11, 2021.

Los Angeles, Mar 12: Hollywood superstar Tom Hanks has revealed that he and wife Rita Wilson have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The actor couple, currently in Australia to shoot for the pre-production of Baz Luhrmann's untitled Elvis Presley film, decided to get tested after they felt "a bit tired".

"Hey folks Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the coronavirus, and were found to be positive," Hanks said in a tweet.

The Academy-award-winning actor said the medical team had already taken over.

"The medical officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks will be tested, observed and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires," Hanks said.

"Not much more to it than one-day at a time approach, no? We will keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves!" Hanks tweeted.

Washington, May 26: Making a slight change to the name of their newborn, Tesla CEO Elon Musk and his singer girlfriend Grimes have now named their first child X AE A-Xii.

The difference is only in the numeral part of the name which is now written in the Roman format.

Earlier this month, the celebrity couple hogged headlines for naming their son X AE A-12.

The change in the name came when an Instagram follower of the Canadian singer asked if she had considered changing the name of the child and she replied with, "X AE A-Xii."

However, the performer didn't provide further insight concerning the reason behind the change.

Canadian singer Grimes gave birth to her first child on May 4.

The 32-year-old had earlier taken to Twitter and explained the meaning of the baby's name.
