SASP Jubail emerge champions of ‘JF IDEALINK Winter Cup-2015’

Jubail, Jan 21: Excitement, passion, color and the cricketing excellence of ‘JF IDEALINK Winter Cup 2015’ a knockout cricket tournament for noble cause got off to an exhilarating annual event of sports at SABSA Cricket Ground in Rakah (Al-Khobar) at eastern province of Saudi Arabia. The extraordinary Cricket Tournament was organized by Dammam Unit of ‘Jamiyyatul Falah’ a charitable organization.

The foggy, dusty and cold weather conditions in the morning didn’t changed the mood of Cricket Tournament and it took off smoothly with great piece of enthusiasm by all the players of 16 top cricket teams of Eastern Province. All the matches played had shown a marvelous piece of performance and the real sportsman spirit was displayed by all the players during the Tournament. The excitement and interest towards the game was beautifully exhibited by all the teams despite of 8 over a side match.

Mohammed Wahid, President of JF Dammam Unit inaugurated the opening ceremony and Siraj, the sports event manager had described the rules and regulations on the ground to all the Cricket Teams and the inaugural match of the preliminary round between “CBC” and “United Khobar” was started off on-time and followed by all other matches as scheduled. All preliminary and quarter final matches were played in the morning and afternoon session and the Semi-Finals and Finals were played under floodlight with delightful atmosphere.

Won the toss and put on to bat first Daya and Hamza opened the innings for Coastaldigest. Sampath send back Daya in the very first ball of the match. Then Captain Bader joined Hamza, fails to stay on the crease as Zeeshan took his wicket when his score is 7 runs. In this movement good all-rounder of the ball Shifaan came to rescue his team, also, failed as he given his wicket when his score is 14 with 2 huge sixes. At this crucial stage Qayyum joined Hamza both played sensible cricket and put on 22 runs for the 4th wicket. At the end Qayyum and Aathif played brilliantly and took their team for a commendable total to 93 runs in their allotted 8 overs. Qayyum hits magnificent knock of 28 with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Aathif also hits 2 fours and 2 mega sixes.

For Coastaldigest - Qayyum 28, Hamza 16, Aathif 16, and Shifaan 14. For SASP Ansaaf took 2 wicket, Sampath, Zeeshan and Saahil took one wickets each.

In reply Ansaaf and Deepak open the innings for SASP, unfortunately Deepak was run out without opening the score. The innings of Ansaaf also come to an end as he gone out from the crease due to muscles cramp when his individual score is 9. At this difficult situation good sticker of the ball Rafiq joined Zeeshan, both played magnificently, hitting the CD bowlers. Rafiq hits 26 runs in the 5th over to Qayyum with 4 consecutive sixes, and at the end Zeeshan also equally contributed unbeaten 37 runs with 3 sixes and 2 fours, to take his team for grand victory in the 7th over.

SASP beat coastaldigest by 7 wickets. For SASP, Zeeshan not out 37, Rafiq 44. For Coastadigest Aathif took 2 wickets.

Prior to this mega finals 1st Semi Finals was played between Khobar United Vs Coastal digest. Batted first Khobar United made 63/4 and in reply coastal digest were 64/2 in the 7th over.

2nd Semi Finals was played between Amaco and SASP, batted first Amaco made 72/5 and in reply SASP were 74/4 with one ball to spare.

Zeeshan of SASP judged “Man of the Match” award for his brilliant batting and bowling performance in the finals.

The first half of the Tournament was well executed by all the 16 Cricket Teams. The second half of the Tournament – the post-match presentation and the closing ceremony – was hosted by Mansour Ali Ahmed. The program commenced with Qirath by Master Salman Ashraf. President of JF Dammam Unit, Mohammed Wahid addressed the audience with his welcome speech and thanked the audience for their kind presence.

The presence of prominent guests and audience had built a pleasant environment of joy and happiness on the ground and their presence was appreciated by the Host. The Main Sponsors for the Cricket Tournament “IDEALINK”, “JAFCO” and “SAB” were presented with memento. The main sponsors and distinguished guests had shared and invited on the dais including Chief Guest Sudeer Punathil (MD, Idealink), Brand Ambassador of the Tournament Ismail Ebrahim (MD, JAFCO), Syed Altamash (Al-Majdouie Travels), Abdul Hakeem (Al-Kabeer Foods), Abdul Mohsen (AKTS), Mr. Syed Assadullah (Compusoft), Faisal Zaidi (CEO, Nvezion), Narendra Shetty (President, MASA), Hakeem Dowla (Deputy Chairman, IISD) and Shaikh Mohammad Iqbal (ARASCO).

The host took the opportunity on behalf of JF Dammam Unit and tribute all the wonderful moments of “JF Idealink Winter Cup 2015” to all the players of 16 Cricket Teams for showing the great sportsman spirit throughout the Tournament and received a huge applaud from the great audience. He thanked all the 16 Cricket Teams and encouraged them as a WINNER of ‘JF Idealink Winter Cup 2015’, because they all played for the Noble Cause, for which JF Dammam Unit is always thankful for their charitable contribution.

The success of “JF Idealink Winter Cup 2015” was dedicated to its Main Sponsors, Co-Sponsors and all the well-wishers of Jam’iyattul Falah, who had been a great support and foundation to a wonderful Cricket Tournament, and the encouragement had given the opportunity to JF Dammam Unit to work for the betterment of the community back home.

Office Bearers of JF Dammam Unit presented the memento to all the Main Sponsors, Co-Sponsors and Well Wishers of Jam’iyyatul Falah.

Subsequently, the prize distribution ceremony was hosted by Javed Sayed and he announced the winners of 13 ‘Man of the Match’ awardees for their performance in the Preliminary, Quarter Final, Semi-Final and Finals. Individual awards were presented to different players in various categories.

Rajesh, the Captain of “SASP” Cricket Team collected the Winner’s Trophy from Chief Guest Sudeer Punathil of IDEALINK and at the same time, each winning players had collected their individual trophies. Bader, the Captain of “Coastaldigest” Cricket Team collected the Runners-up trophy from Brand Ambassador Ismail Ebrahim of JAFCO and the players were distributed with their individual trophies.

Vote of thanks was proposed by Shahul Hameed, ex-President and ex-NRCC Ameer of JF Dammam Unit.

Kuwait: The Covid-19 pandemic has pushed the whole world into a difficult situation and the situation of Indians in Kuwait is not any different. Many people have lost their jobs, have no salary, are deprived of food and are not able to pay rent. The appalling conditions of labourers, domestic workers, taxi drivers and low waged earners don’t seem to end in Kuwait. 

At this trying situation when many people were even afraid of leaving their houses because of coronavirus, Suresh S. Rao Neramballi, volunteer of the Food Kit Distribution at the ICSG (Indian Community Support Group) has helped many tremendously. He was ready to go around delivering food kits at any time possible by his car. However, after Kuwait imposed a full curfew from 11th May 2020, no one could take out their vehicles unless they had a curfew pass. 

This did not stop Mr. Suresh Neramballi, who then borrowed a bicycle from a friend and ended up going around in the cycle delivering the food kits in curfew break time (4:30pm to 6:30pm) to all those who registered in the ICSG website. This selfless service surely commands appreciation and applause. Mr. Suresh Neramballi has been a light for many families and bachelors in Kuwait and will surely garner the blessings of them who have been able to eat at this time.

He was also the one who could deliver the food kits to many Indian Muslim maids, bachelors, laborers and families previous day and right on the day of EID, as they were not able to go shopping for their groceries for EID, due to the curfew. They blessed him in EID dua. 

Mr. Suresh Neramballi hails from Mangaluru, India and is an Engineer in the Oil sector company in Kuwait. He has been dedicated to social service, achieved 'Aryabhata International Award' for his Kannada Service and Social service, served in many Associations and Distributor of Kannada and Tulu Movies in Kuwait. He wholeheartedly thanks the people and government of Kuwait for his bread and butter.

Kuwait: Friday Forum Kuwait conducted its 12th inter-school Islamic Elocution Competition at Hotel Rajadhani Palace, Khaitan on 1st January 2020. 

The competition, which was held in the senior and junior categories had participation from 15 Indian Schools across Kuwait comprising of 43 students. In the senior category, Ayisha Wafiya of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Efrem Joseph of Indian Community School, Amman won the second prize. 

In the junior category, Hima Jameela of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Fadhel Kandapath of Fahaheel Al Wataniya Indian School won the second prize. Nawaal Yaseen Ebrahim of Indian Community School (SR), Salmiya and Rhruthunanda of Indian Learners Own Academy, Abbasiya won the consolation prizes in senior and junior categories respectively.

This year, the event was fully conducted by the ladies wing of Friday Forum. Dr. Thasneem Amir, Ibtisam Basheer, Toast Masters Ola Rasheed, Fatma Abduhedeid, Shazia Thabassum and Marium Rangat were the judges for the competition in senior and junior categories. The event started with the Qira’at by Saneera Riyas, followed by welcome speech by Dr. Sajna Mohammed. 

The prizes were distributed to winners by Shahina Mansoor, Femitha Faseeh, Dr.Thasneem Amir, Dr. Sajna Mohammed, Zeenath Yacoub, Safna Sayam and Saneera Riyas. The Souvenir for the program - “INSPERIA 2020”- was released during the event by the chief editor Farha Abdul Rahman. The program was compered by Thanveera Noushad and the program convenor Subeana Shabeer conveyed the vote of thanks.

Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.
