Nagpur, Feb 18: Seven Maoists were killed in an encounter with Maharashtra police near Alitola village in Gadchiroli district, Maharashtra on Tuesday.
“The encounter took place near Alitola village on the border of Gondia district and Gadchiroli district around midnight. We have recovered seven bodies and operations are on in this area” Ravindra Kadam, the Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) of Gadchiroli range told The Hindu.
The same of group Maoists had set ablaze a Gram Panchayat building in a nearby village Kurshipar a day before, informed DIG Kadam, adding that some policemen suffered minor injuries in the encounter.
