Shameer Ahmed Kudroli conferred as ‘Blood Donation Icon of Jubail’

Jubail, Feb 1: Mangalore based Toastmaster Shameer Ahmed Kudroli  was conferred as ‘Blood Donation Icon of Jubail’ by Jubail General Hospital for his immense contribution to the cause of blood donation in Jubail vicinity.

He was honored in a private ceremony held in the hospital in the presence of hospital staff on January, 27 2014. As a token of appreciation he was given a certificate from Ministry of Health, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Mr. Shameer Ahmed has been in the news quite some time for his exclusive effort in organizing blood donation camps and creating the much needed awareness on blood donation. He is hailed for pioneering the blood donation camps in Jubail area which was almost absent up until Mr. Shameer took up this cause. He is a frequent donor and wants people to be aware that blood donation doesn’t cause any harm as ignorantly understood by many. Instead, blood donation gives people an opportunity to reinvigorate human system with infusion of new blood.

He started his ‘blood donation mission’ with toastmaster forum, where he organized it for his fellow toastmasters. Huge success of the programs and incredible response from people encouraged Mr. Shameer to conduct it for many other organizations in Jubail. Presently he is engaged with Indian Forum, Jubail and has conducted blood donation campaigns through this organization a few times.   Now any organization may contact him get his assistance to conduct the blood donation. His involvement in toastmaster movement has given him good organization skill to carry out such programs meticulously. The participants have often appreciated his great effort in carrying out such campaigns and his dedication toward his mission has been widely appreciated.  It is well know that every unit donated can save or improve the lives of up to 3 people, which means over a life time 1 person can help over 500 people.

Mr. Shameer believes that blood donation is the best among charity as it gives the chance to save the life of a person. He attributes his commitment to blood donation cause to a verse from Qur’an which states ‘if anyone saved a life it would be as if he saved the life of the whole humanity’.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) organized Blood Donation Camp at Latifa Hospital, Oud Mehta Dubai on April 23rd, 2020 in association with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and with support from Community Development Authority (CDA) Government of Dubai.

Blood Donation Drive started in the morning at 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Around 48 people participated in this drive and donated blood to support the Dubai Blood Bank.

A potential shortage of blood for transfusions has been occurred due to a significant reduction in voluntary blood donations during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The current pandemic, health services are now running with shortages of blood availability. To support the DHA Blood Bank KSCC taken initiative to ensure that blood donations continued and are safe for both the donor and the recipient.

After taking safety precaution and safe distance during the blood donation donors feeling happy and honored to participate and donate blood at this pandemic situation. Club Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi was also present during this event.

KSCC appreciated all the blood donors and be grateful to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Community Development Authority (CDA), and Government of Dubai for their association for this event. They also thanked the volunteers and supporters.

Dubai, May 20: Dubai-based Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club’s humanitarian services in charge Naseer Karaje team have appreciated the efforts of Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru Airport director, NGOs of Mangaluru, and MLA for extending a royal welcome to second batch of repatriates from Dubai that landed at Mangaluru Airport on May 18.

There was so much of confusions when 1st batch of repatriation flight landed in Mangaluru airport on 12th May due to lack of proper arrangements and co ordination.

This time due to proper arrangements and special supervision by the DC everything was driven smoothly. It has given a confidence to all the Manglurean expats of Dubai in returning to their native places, the KSCC said.

Dubai, Aug 7: ‘Nama Tuluve’ Purushotham Salian, a staunch stalwart who always supported humanity and a strong pillar for Tuluvas in Dubai, passed away August, 4 at Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain. He was suffering from cancer and was admitted to Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain some time ago. He was on the last stage of illness which was not detected earlier.

His funeral last rites were conducted on Thursday August 7 at Jebel Ali cemetery in Hindu rites with a few of his family members present. Due to Covid pandemic, neither his body was able to be flown back to hometown nor could his two children come down to attend the funeral. However, it was said that his wish was to be cremated here in Dubai which unknowingly sometime back he whispered to one of his friends.

Purushotham had few years ago, survived a heart attack and fought back his life, though it had a minor paralytic effect on him. Even though, till recently he used to do his day-to-day work normally. He was a hard working personality and owned a readymade garment shop in Ajman and Dubai mostly taking care of clients with requirement of uniforms and coveralls. His dedication towards work was always appreciated by his clients who used to get their things delivered on time always.

He was never a publicity person and was helping the poor and needy in whatever ways he could silently. He strongly supported the community and was associated with Nama Tuluveru and Billawa community with commitment. He used to voluntarily come forward for the ground work of various functions of the community and used to be there until it was done perfectly.
