Vijayapura, Aug 21: Former prime minister H D Deve Gowda has said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah-led government has failed on all fronts, including in controlling the violence in Dakshina Kannada district.

Speaking to media persons here Gowda that Janata Dal (Secular) was all set to counter the strategies of both Congress and BJP in upcoming Assembly polls. The list of JD(S) candidates for polls would be announced by October, he said.

He said that JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy would contest from Ramanagaram only and would not enter the fray from a second constituency. This, even as there is demand for him to contest from multiple seats.

The former prime minister said his party was not scared of the campaign blitzkreig launched by the BJP and the Congress. He said the JD(S) had formulated strategies for the election, by forming six crack teams. Each team would be in charge of five districts each.

Gowda claimed he had taken a loan of Rs 5 crore for the party, while the two national parties had crores of rupees as funds. His party only transacted through cheques. He said he would restrict himself to state politics and not involve in national politics.
