Six-yr-old girl gangraped by four minor boys in a slum in Chinchwad

Pune, Nov 28: IN A shocking incident, a six-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by four minor boys in Chinchwad on Saturday afternoon. The four boys have been detained by the police after the girl told her mother about the incident and an offence was later registered.

abuseAs per the information given by Pimpri police, the incident took place in a slum area in Chinchwad around 1 pm on Saturday. A First Information Report in this regard has been registered by the father of girl who is a labourer. Between Saturday evening and Sunday morning, Pimpri police detained the four minor boys aged 14, 13, 13 and 10, who live in the same area.

According to the FIR, the incident took place when the girl was playing alone in front of her house, when the boys forcibly took her to a spot near a scrap godown in the locality. The FIR states that the four, then raped and sexually assaulted her and fled from the spot. Later in the day, when the parents of the girl returned home from work, the girl told her mother about what the four boys had done to her.

The mother approached the Pimpri police station in the evening and an FIR was registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 376D (gang rape, as per the 2013 IPC amendment), 377 (unnatural act) and sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.

Senior inspector VV Muglikar, in-charge of Pimpri police station said, “After the girl told her mother about the incident an FIR was registered. Based on what the girl told us about the accused buys, we first detained one of them and he led us to the other three. After a medical examination, the girl has now been admitted to a hospital and is being treated. She will also be provided counseling.”

Muglikar added, “The victim and boys live in the same slum area and their parents are all labourers. Two of the boys go to a local school.”

Police Sub Inspector Ratna Sawant said, “The four boys have been detained and have been remanded to observation after being produced before the Juvenile Justice Board.”

Kochi, Mar 24: A 54-year-old domestic passenger was arrested at the airport here for allegedly refusing to follow instructions given by doctorsfor prevention of the spread of novel coronavirus, police said here on Tuesday.

Lami Arackal from Ernakulam, who landed from Chennai at the Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery on Monday night, was arrested based on a complaint from health officials, they said.

He was, however, later released on bail.

Arackal allegedly refused to wear mask and follow other instructions to be observed by the passengers coming from other states as part of the measures to check COVID-19 spread.

He also allegedly misbehaved with the medical officers, police said.

Belagavi, Jan 19: Miscreants have murdered a couple and their son at Dodwad Village, about 50 km from here, in the wee hours on Sunday.

The victims were identified as Shvananda Basavanthappa Andanashetty, his wife Shanthavva and their son Vinod.

Senior Police officials visited the spot and a case was registered at Dodwad Police Station.

New Delhi, Jul 19: At least six people were killed and 20 injured when a bus overturned after colliding with a private vehicle at Agra - Lucknow Expressway in the wee hours of Sunday. According to initial reports, the bus carrying around 40 passengers toppled after hitting a stranded SUV at around 5 am, 122 km from Lucknow.

A police team reached the spot within a few minutes of the accident and rescued the injured with the help of locals. They were rushed to a nearby hospital. “Five passengers were killed on the spot while another died minutes after reaching the hospital,” Hindustan Times quoted Kannauj DSP Amarendra PD Singh as saying.

Around 20 other passengers have also sustained injuries who were admitted to the hospital, the police said. The bus had started from Bihar's Darbhanga and was en route to Delhi. "The private bus was coming from Darbangha and going to Delhi when it hit a car. Both the vehicles came down from the highway," a senior police official told news agency ANI.

Meanwhile, authorities are trying to ascertain the identity of the deceased. UP CM Yogi Adityanath expressed over the loss of lives and directed officials to ensure all help to the victims.
