Son bludgeons parents to death in Koppal

Koppal, February 1: A man bludgeoned his father to death and then chased his mother, who was fleeing after witnessing the horrific incident, and killed her too in Talakeri village in Yalaburga taluk on Tuesday.

Shamidsaba Challari, 52, a Zilla Panchayat member, and Rajabi, 48, are the deceased.Bevuru police have arrested Ameenuddin and Imam Hussain in this connection.

A family dispute between the father and sons is said to be the reason for the murder. Police said Ameenuddin attacked his father with a club while he was asleep on Monday morning, killing him instantly. His mother Rajabi, who witnessed the incident, immediately fled the house. But Ameenuddin chased her and just as she was entering the neighbour’s house, he dragged her out by her hair and bludgeoned her to death.

Police have arrested Ammenuddin and his brother Imam Hussain for instigating him to commit the crime.

A case has been registered at the Bevuru police station.

Kozhikode, Jul 20: A 17-year old boy died of head injuries while trying to protect his mother from being assaulted by his drunk father here, police said on Sunday.

The youngster suffered the fatal injury after his head hit against the door when his father shoved him at their home on Saturday. Venu, had come home in an inebriated state and picked up a quarrel with his wife and started beating her up, they said.

On seeing this, Alan tried to intervene. Though the boy was rushed to the hospital, his life could not be saved, they added. Venu was arrested and a case has been registered.

Mathura, Jul 22: A local court in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura on Wednesday sentenced 11 policemen, including the then Deputy Superintendent of Police, to life imprisonment in a case pertaining to the murder of royal Raja Man Singh in 1985.

District Judge Sadhana Rani Thakur announced the life imprisonment sentence a day after holding them guilty of the killing. Three policemen were, however, acquitted. Four men died during the trial.

The policemen were convicted under Section 302 (murder), 148 (rioting) and 149 (Every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) of the Indian Penal Code.

The verdict comes 35 years after Man Singh was killed. He, along with two others, was shot dead in police firing a day after he crashed his jeep into the then Rajasthan Chief Minister Shiv Charan Mathur's helicopter in a fit of anger.

Bengaluru, Feb 19: Bengaluru City Crime Branch (CCB) on Wednesday raided a spa in Koramangala area and rescued six girls.

The owner of the spa is absconding and the manager has been arrested.
