Mumbai, Aug 11: Sonakshi Sinha's love for dance is apparent in her films as well as stage shows and the actor says she now wants to be a part of a full-fledged dance film.

Be it "Saree ke fall sa", "Gandi Baat" or "Party All Night" Sonakshi's dance moves have been appreciated by the audience, so the actor finds it surprising that she hasn't been offered any dance-based movie yet.

"I would love to do a dance-based film. Isn't it shocking no one has put me in a dance film yet? I would love to do that because I love dancing freely and that translates on screen," Sonakshi told PTI in an interview.

While there's some time for a dance film to happen, the actor has her plate full with films like "Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi", "Kalank" and "Dabangg 3".

While "Kalank" will mark her first collaboration with Dharma Productions, "Dabangg 3" will reunite her with her first film team. The actor made her debut with "Dabangg" in 2010.

When asked if her equation with superstar Salman Khan, her "Dabangg" co-star and mentor, has changed over the last eight years, Sonakshi said, "Honestly no. The dynamic with Salman Khan hasn't changed in the last few years, why will it change in the film. It'll only get better. 'Dabangg' is a home ground, it's a family I began with.

"Just going back to them is always a pleasure. This time around, Prabhu sir (Prabhudheva director) has been added to the film. It just keeps getting better," she said.

Sonakshi got instant fame after playing a feisty village-belle, Rajjo, in "Dabangg", and the actor says the love story between Rajjo and Chulbul Pandey (Salman) will be important in the third instalment of the action franchise.

"Equation between Chulbul and Rajjo stood out in 'Dabangg'. It wasn't only about action which it usually is in a Salman Khan film. That's something the audience likes, appreciates, expects. We can't take that away from them."

Talking about "Kalank", which is a multi-starrer period drama, the actor said contrary to how serious the film is, the cast indulges in many light moments off the screen.

Directed by Abhishek Varman, "Kalank" also stars Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur. It will release in April, 2019.

"It's great because you're sharing screen space with such wonderful actors. Everyone gets along really well. The nature of the film might be serious we were very non-serious off camera," Sonakshi said.

"It's an honour for anyone to work with madhuri. We have idolised her. Just to be in the same film with her is a dream come true. She's a living legend."

Sonakshi will next be seen in "Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi", the sequel to 2015 romantic-comedy "Happy Bhag Jayegi."

Also starring Jimmy Shergill and Diana Penty, 'Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi" will release on August 24.

Mumbai, Aug 2: Oscar-winning director Alfonso Cuaron has come aboard as an executive producer on filmmaker Chaitanya Tamhane's movie The Disciple. The Marathi feature is set to represent India at the 77th edition of the Venice Film Festival. It will be screened in the Competition section of the prestigious film gala.

The movie, which is Tamhane's follow-up to his National Award-winning feature Court, has also been selected for 2020 Toronto International Film Festival's official line-up.

"I met Chaitanya through a mentorship program where I had the opportunity to watch his very superb debut film, Court  I was immediately impressed by his sense of cinema and fearless confidence to tell stories.

"He was part of most of Roma's process and I jumped to the opportunity to be part of the process of his second film The Disciple. I believe Chaitanya is one of the most important new voices of contemporary cinema," Cuaron said in a statement.

Tamhane said he is honoured to have Cuaron aboard the film.

"It’s a bit surreal and an incredible honour for me to have one of the most recognised and acclaimed filmmakers in the world be part of 'The Disciple'. In some ways, this validation from Alfonso Cuaron is even more," he added.

The Disciple, a 127-minute long feature, stars Aditya Modak, Arun Dravid, Sumitra Bhave, and Kiran Yadnyopavit. It has been produced by “Sir” actor Vivek Gomber through his Zoo Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.

The Disciple marks Tamhane’s return to Venice after he won the Best Film - Orizzonti and Lion of the Future award for Court in 2014.

Court, a poignant commentary on India's judicial system, also won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in 2015 and was India's official entry for the Best Foreign Film at the 2016 Oscars.

Endeavor Content will sell North American rights and New Europe Film Sales boards the film as an international sales agent.

Mumbai, Jul 19: Mumbai Police have registered an FIR against two Instagram account holders for allegedly threatening actor Rhea Chakraborty, an official said on Sunday.

The location of the two accused is yet to be traced, the official said, adding that the investigation in the case is at primary stage.

Chakraborty on Thursday requested the cyber crime cell to look into the rape and murder threats she has been receiving ever since the death of close friend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Rajput, 34, was found dead in his apartment in suburban Bandra here on June 14, leaving people in the film industry and audiences shocked.

Chakraborty, in particular, was subjected to online hate with users blaming her for Rajput's suicide.

"We registered the First Information Report (FIR) on Saturday under Indian Penal Code Sections 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication), 509 (intending to insult modesty of any woman) and relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act," Santacruz police station's senior inspector Shriram Koregaonkar said.

"No arrest has been made so far. We are conducting an investigation in the case," he added.

On Thursday, sharing a screenshot of a hate message she received on Instagram, Chakraborty said while she had ignored many abusive texts sent to her in the past month, the harassment was now unbearable.

The 28-year-old actor eventually disabled the comments section of her Instagram page.

Chakraborty, known for films such as "Mere Dad Ki Maruti" and "Jalebi", had tagged the cyber cell and requested the authorities to look into the threats.

On June 18, she was called to the Bandra police station to record her statement in connection with Rajput's death.
