Sonam Kapoor taken to Mumbai for swine flu treatment

Rajkot, Mar 1: Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, who has been tested positive for swine flu, was today flown to Mumbai by an air-ambulance from a private hospital here.

sonam kapoor“Sonam Kapoor, who was being treated at the Sterling hospital for swine flu infection has been taken to Mumbai today by an air-ambulance,” Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Kamal Parikh said.

Kapoor (29), was admitted in the hospital on Saturday after she had complained of mild fever, cold and cough, following which test for swine flu was conducted on her, he said.

The actress’s mother Sunita Kapoor had come to see her at Rajkot and took her in air—ambulance of Mumbai’s Kokilaben hospital, sources said.

The ‘Khoobsurat’ star was here to shoot for Rajshri Production’s upcoming film ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ in which she stars opposite actor Salman Khan. Salman and director Sooraj Barjatya are shooting in Gondal near here for the last one week.

Kapoor arrived in Gondal two—three days ago, but had to return to Mumbai as she was suffering from cough. She joined shooting in Gondal yesterday, but had to be admitted in hospital here, they added.

She was also admitted to Kokilaben Ambani hospital in Mumbai last month after contacting a respiratory infection.

Sonam, who is the daughter of actor and producer Anil Kapoor, is known for her roles in films ‘Delhi—6’, ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ and ‘Dolly Ki Doli’

Rajkot collector Manisha Chandra has said that a team from the district health department had yesterday visited the film’s crew but no tests have been conducted on any other crew member as no influenza—like syndrome was seen in them.

Indore, Jan 14: Yoga guru Ramdev has said that Deepika Padukone should hire persons like him for offering correct advice, days after the actress had visited Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi following the violence at the campus earlier this month.

"Deepika Padukone needs to study about political, social and cultural issues. She should understand more about our country. Only after gaining knowledge, she should take decisions. I feel she should have persons like Swami Ramdev for correct advice," Ramdev said at an event here on Monday.

On January 7, Padukone joined the protest at JNU after a masked mob entered the varsity campus and attacked the students and teachers with sticks and rods on January 5.

Several BJP leaders questioned the support extended by Padukone. On the other hand, the Congress threw their weight behind the actress for her stand.

New Delhi, Jun 20: Taking cues from her own experience, actor Deepika Padukone on Saturday emphasised that people suffering from depression cannot 'snap out' of the mental health condition.

Continuing with her daily practice of posting mental health messages for people struggling with depression and other issues, Padukone posted the recent message on social media.

"Repeat after me: You cannot 'snap out' of depression," Padukone wrote on Twitter.

Padukone had started with the series of mental health quotes after the sudden demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who committed suicide by hanging himself at his Bandra residence in Mumbai.

The 'Tamasha' actor started voicing her opinion on the importance of mental health through her foundation 'The Live Love Laugh Foundation' (TLLLF) in June 2015. Through the platform, the actor keeps launching nationwide awareness as well as destigmatisation campaigns.

Kochi, Feb 7: The younger brother of noted playback singer K J Yesudas was found dead in the backwaters near here, police said.

The body of 62-year old K J Justin, who had reportedly gone missing from his house in Thrikkakara near here on Tuesday evening was found floating in the backwaters near Vallarpadam Container Terminal on Wednesday, they said.

The relatives identified the body, police said adding it was later sent for autopsy at General Hospital here.

A General Hospital spokesperson said the body was handed over to his relatives on Thursday evening after autopsy was performed.

The funeral is expected to be held after the arrival of Yesudas from abroad, police sources said.

Police said the initial investigation suggested it was a case of suicide.

According to police, Jusin's relatives have informed the investigation team that he had been showing signs of suicidal tendency for the last one week as he was allegedly facing some financial problem.

His relatives were not available for comments.

Son of the renowned musician late Augustine Joseph, Justin is survived by his wife.

Justin had been a regular presence at popular ganamela programmes here in the past, sources said.
