Dharwad, Dec 13: Sriram Sene activists on Monday lodged a complaint with police alleging that a youth from Dharwad has posted his photo on the Facebook, holding Pakistan flag. According to the complaint, Altaf Tadkod uploaded the photograph on his Facebook wall at 8 pm on Sunday.
“We have no objection if the youth had displayed the flag of his religion. But, holding Pakistan flag and posting its photograph on Facebook, has hurt the sentiments of Indians,” they said.
Dubai, Feb 19: A 25-year-old Indian engineer allegedly fell to his death from a residential apartment in Dubai, according to a media report.
Sabeel Rahman, from Kerala who has been living in Dubai since 2018, fell off the building near his work site, The Khaleej Times quoted a social worker as saying.
Naseer Vatanapally, the social worker, is assisting the family to repatriate his mortal remains back home to Thirur in Malappuram district, the report said.
"The case is a bit unusual. We''re not sure why he went to the building near his worksite," said Naseer Vatanapally.
"His family is unaware of any issues he may have faced. He had asked his brother to collect a new mobile phone he had purchased online - which they received. He had no reason to take his life," he added.
Rahman was the youngest of four siblings. The devastated family is awaiting details from the Rashidiya Police Station. "Following legal procedures, we will repatriate his body back home," he said.
Bengaluru, Jan 23: Karnataka government on Thursday notified the much-hyped anti-superstition law that aims to prevent and eradicate "inhuman evil practices".
According to Social Welfare principal Secretary G Kumar Naik, the state social welfare department has issued a gazette notification and The Karnataka Prevention and Eradication of Inhuman Evil Practices and Black Magic Act, 2017, that intends to protect the common people against "evil" and "sinister" practices, shall come into force with effect from January 4 2020, the government notification issued earlier this month read.
The act seeks to combat and eradicate such inhuman practices propagated and performed in the name of "black magic" by conmen with the sinister motive of exploiting the common people, thereby destroying the social fabric of the society.

Spice Jet (SG9884) departed from King Abdul Aziz International Airport Jeddah by 05.00 pm local time with 177 stranded passengers which includes 12 Pregnant Woman, 3 infants, 44 Short term visa holders, 3 medical emergency patients and 115 migrate workers and labours from various districts of Karnataka state.
Karnataka NRI Forum Jeddah, a registered charitable organization under Government of Karnataka & Indian Consulate Jeddah - Saudi Arabia, helping the Kannadigas overseas & in Karnataka State as well, has initiated major role for helping stranded Kannadigas to travel back to home. Many readers here are suggest to arrest the youth and kick him out to Pakistan for hoisting Pak flag (not yet confirmed). However, they are hiding to tell the truth about hoisting Pak flag by SRS terrorists. Instead of asking the culprits to punish, they had supported these goondas. This was done only to blame minorities. In the particular case also i doubt that it was fabricated by sangh parivar. This should be investigated and the person should be punished in case he really hoisted pak flag. However, please make is clear that he is not mentally sick.
