Sulaiman Abdul Rahman re-elected president of KMYA-Riyadh

Riyadh: The 17th annual general body meeting of Katipalla Muslim Youth Association (KMYA), Riyadh was held on September 26, 2014 at Mezban Family Restaurant at Hai Al Wazarah (HARA) in Riyadh. The committee unanimously re-elected Sulaiman Abdul Rahaman the president for the year 2014 -15.

Mr. Sulaiman in his presidential message thanked the committee for giving him the opportunity to lead KMYA Riyadh Unit for another year. “With the support from the Executive Committee Members I was able to play the role of president for the last term and expecting the same for the year ahead,” he said.

The annual report for the past year was read out by the Joint Secretary Saif Anam in the absence of General Secretary Abdul Qayyum, who moved to other part of the Kingdom. Treasurer Ashfak presented the financial statement for the year ended 2013-14. Khalid Hamza, President KMYA Dammam Unit and entrepreneur Naufal Zameer, Executive committee member KMYA Dammam Unit were the chief guests.

Mr Khalid Hamza briefed about KMYA to the audience, and explained various activities of KMYA which provides support to the less privileged families in and around Katipalla Jama’at.

The meeting started with the recitation of holy Quran by Saif Mahin. P.M Haneef conducted the election.

Kuwait: Friday Forum Kuwait conducted its 12th inter-school Islamic Elocution Competition at Hotel Rajadhani Palace, Khaitan on 1st January 2020. 

The competition, which was held in the senior and junior categories had participation from 15 Indian Schools across Kuwait comprising of 43 students. In the senior category, Ayisha Wafiya of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Efrem Joseph of Indian Community School, Amman won the second prize. 

In the junior category, Hima Jameela of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Fadhel Kandapath of Fahaheel Al Wataniya Indian School won the second prize. Nawaal Yaseen Ebrahim of Indian Community School (SR), Salmiya and Rhruthunanda of Indian Learners Own Academy, Abbasiya won the consolation prizes in senior and junior categories respectively.

This year, the event was fully conducted by the ladies wing of Friday Forum. Dr. Thasneem Amir, Ibtisam Basheer, Toast Masters Ola Rasheed, Fatma Abduhedeid, Shazia Thabassum and Marium Rangat were the judges for the competition in senior and junior categories. The event started with the Qira’at by Saneera Riyas, followed by welcome speech by Dr. Sajna Mohammed. 

The prizes were distributed to winners by Shahina Mansoor, Femitha Faseeh, Dr.Thasneem Amir, Dr. Sajna Mohammed, Zeenath Yacoub, Safna Sayam and Saneera Riyas. The Souvenir for the program - “INSPERIA 2020”- was released during the event by the chief editor Farha Abdul Rahman. The program was compered by Thanveera Noushad and the program convenor Subeana Shabeer conveyed the vote of thanks.

Manama: Kannada Sangha Bahrain President Mr. Pradeep Shetty and Vice President of Bahrain's prestigious KHK HEROES Foundation Mohammed Mansoor on Monday, May 11, met The Second Secretary (Consular & CW) of the Embassy of India, Bahrain Mr. P. K. Chowdhury in the Indian Embassy. 

The situation, problems and relief of Indians and Kannadigas residing in Bahrain during the COVID 19 Pandemic was discussed in detail. The distribution of food (dry ration) kits, as well as those seeking repatriation, was also discussed in the meeting.

When asked about the repatriation of distressed Kannadigas, the Second Secretary said that though the number of Kannadigas who wish to return home is not much compared to the rest of the states, still Embassy is compiling all the information and will do the needful soon. 

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Mansoor told the Second Secretary that those who are in problem can contact them and they are ready to do their best.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.
