Mumbai, Sept 28: Tanushree Dutta sat down for a tell-all conversation with the media on Thursday afternoon, over her claims of harassment by veteran actor Nana Patekaron the sets of the 2008 film 'Horn Ok Pleassss’. Besides calling out Patekar for allegedly misbehaving with her, she also claimed that choreographer Ganesh Acharya, workers of Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, producer Sami Siddiqui and director of the film Rakesh Sarang were complicit. Speaking at length about her decision to set the record straight post the controversy her revelations have sparked up, the actress also recalled being threatened and attacked by Raj Thackeray’s MNS political party workers.

Recalling the “terror” her family had to go through, she said, “My sister was at home. She was in college at the time and was seeing her mother, father and elder sister stuck in a car and a dirty political party that has burned busses and caused so much damage is now attacking them. She thought that she would lose her family.”

“You three were on the sets, but I was at home and didn’t know if you’ll were coming back or not,” she quoted her sister saying.

Condemning the attack, the actress said that those days are far behind as she urged the industry to “boycott them.”

Interpreting the reason behind the attack, Tanushree said, “When irrelevant people try to prove their relevance, such things happen. He (Raj) has found goons like himself for his party and sends them to places to break things. Whoever wants to create havoc, calls these people. He wanted Balasaheb Thackeray’s seat and till today he has had difficulty becoming a leader. But you won’t become a leader and you won’t form the government because leaders take care of the weak, women and don’t put them down. They don’t attack women’s cars.”

Taking another jibe at Nana Patekar, she said, “He wanted to become a hero, but nobody made him one. Everyone around him became a hero, but he remained as a character artist. He wanted to become a hero so he misbehaved with girls and was unruly and would intimidate (girls). No actress considered him as a hero and when his tactics didn’t work, he joined hands with such a political party.”

When asked if she feared another such incident occurring once again, she vehemently struck it down saying, “They cannot touch me. If they even think about it, even that thought will destroy them. The one who has brought me into this world will be the one to take me away from it. If I am to have a “sudden accident”, then even Raj Thackeray can have a sudden accident. Lightning can strike him. There can be a short circuit. The same can happen to Nana Patekar. Anything can happen to anyone.”

New Delhi, Jun 22: Amidst a strain in the ties between India and Nepal, actor Manisha Koirala, a Nepali national, on Monday urged people of both the countries to be not "aggressive and disrespectful" towards each other.

Koirala, a leading Bollywood actor of her times, took to Twitter to request people to let the respective government resolve the issues and stay "civil."

"A heartfelt request please let's not be aggressive and disrespectful..we are in this situation together..our respective Gov's will resolve the issue. In the meantime we can be civil ..I remain hopeful," she tweeted.

Earlier last week, Nepal 's Upper House of Parliament endorsed a proposal to discuss the Constitution amendment bill to update the country's map that incorporates parts of Indian territory.

Nepal's House of Representatives had on June 10 endorsed a proposal seeking consideration of a constitution amendment bill for change of country's map after a lengthy discussion. Nepal has made offers to India to hold "diplomatic talks to resolve the territorial issue" between the two countries.

New Delhi has said that the updated map is "not based on historical facts and evidence" and termed the claims by Nepal as artificial enlargement.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava also said that the move is violative of the current understanding to hold talks on outstanding boundary issues.

Washington, Apr 8: Choosing stethoscope over the crown, Miss England 2019, Bhasha Mukherjee, has returned to work as a doctor as the world battles with coronavirus pandemic.

According to CNN, she was a junior doctor with a specialisation in respiratory medicine, before being crowned as Miss England in August last year. The beauty queen, who has her roots in India's Kolkata city, had taken a career break from the medical field.

She had paused her medical career for some humanitarian work that she was offered by several charities and was on a tour to different countries including India.

"I was invited to Africa, to Turkey, then to India, Pakistan and several other Asian countries to be an ambassador for various charity work," CNN quoted her as saying.

She had been in India at the beginning of March for four weeks. During her stay as an ambassador of the Coventry Mercia Lions Club, the 24-year-old had visited several schools and had donated stationery and other items to the needy.

Mukherjee then returned back UK as the situation worsened there with the coronavirus spreading at a fast rate. She then contacted the hospital and asked them that she wanted to rejoin.

According to CNN, the Miss England beauty pageant winner said that she felt wrong to be wearing the crown while people around the world were dying from the virus.

"When you are doing all this humanitarian work abroad, you're still expected to put the crown on, get ready... look pretty. I wanted to come back home. I wanted to come and go straight to work," CNN quoted her as saying.

"I felt a sense of this is what I'd got this degree for and what better time to be part of this particular sector than now. It was incredible the way the whole world was celebrating all key workers, and I wanted to be one of those, and I knew I could help," she added.

As the beauty queen has a recent travel history, she is currently in self-isolation and will return to work once her quarantine period is over.
She was crowned as Miss England 2019 in August last year.

According to World Health Organisation, 13,53,361people have been affected by coronavirus and over 80,000 people have lost their lives to it.
