Mumbai, Feb 8: A software engineer from Andheri was arrested on charges of creating a fake Twitter handle of Sara Tendulkar, daughter of Sachin Tendulkar, and uploading derogatory and defamatory comments against NCP supremo Sharad Pawar.

The cyber police also seized a laptop, two mobile phones, a router and other computer accessories used by Nitin Sishode, 39, from his Military Road, Marol, Andheri, residence.

Sishode, who deals in second-hand laptops and mobile phone, and accessories has been booked for impersonation, cheating and defamation under IPC and the IT Act. He was produces in court and remanded in police custody till February 9.

Sachin Tendulkar's personal assistant had filed a complaint with the cyber police on Sachin's behalf that somebody has created a Twitter handle in the name of Sara, who is studying in London. It said Sachin was shocked by the fake account and reacted on several occasions that it was a fake profile.

"The Twitter handle which goes by the login ID @sarasachin_rt has uploaded several comments on Indian politics," said an officer. One post by the handle said: "Everyone knows that SP looted Maharashtra state but (it is) little known that he tried (it at the) Centre too."

After the complaint, the police scrutinized Twitter and found that several people had commented that the handle was not Sara's as she was not active on Twitter and also not interested in politics. "After going through the derogatory remarks and finding that it was a fake handle, we registered an offence and traced the IP address to Sishode's house in Andheri. With technical help, we also got confirmation that a particular router was used by Sishode," said a senior cop on condition of anonymity.

Sishode's adovate Ajay Dubey said Sishode has been implicated. "My client deals in second-hand computers and laptops. Though he told the police that somebody who bought a laptop from him may have uploaded the derogatory remarks, the police refused to listen and arrested him," he said.

The cops will now send Sishode's laptop to forensic experts to extract details about the user.

Farukkhabad, Jan 14: In a shocking incident, a new-born baby was mauled to death by a dog inside the operation theatre (OT) of a private hospital in Farukkhabad on Monday.

Family members of the baby boy said that they noticed the hospital staff shooing a dog away from inside the operation theatre and soon after, they were told the baby boy, born just two hours ago, was dead.

The family members said that they found the baby's body on the floor and it had deep gashes around the neck and other parts of the body.

District magistrate Manvendra Singh has ordered an FIR and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Chandra Shekhar said the hospital has been sealed and an inquiry ordered into the incident.

Sources said that the hospital where the incident took place was unregistered and was being run adjacent to a government hospital.

According to the FIR lodged with Sadar Kotwali police, the infant's father Ravi Kumar said he had admitted his wife Kanchan in the hospital on Monday and she was taken for a C-section to the operation theatre.

After the delivery, Kanchan was shifted to the ward but the family was told that the baby would be shifted later.

An hour later, the family was informed that the baby had died.

The family members then saw the hospital staff trying to chase a dog out of the operation theatre.

The family members forced their way into the operation theatre and found the infant lying on the floor with several injuries on the neck.

The police said that the baby's body has been preserved for examination and post mortem.

The FIR has been registered against Dr Mohit Gupta, and some of the staff members who were present during the delivery.

The hospital owner, Vijay Patel, however, feigned complete ignorance about the incident and said that he had been told that the baby was born dead.
