Temple tragedy: death toll due to food poison increases to 15

Mysuru, Dec 18: The death toll due to suspected food poison in a temple 'Prasada' at Sulwadi village in Chamarajanagara District on Friday last rose to 15 with a 50 year-old woman died in a private hospital on Tuesday.

Hospital sources said that deceased Dundamma, resident of M M Hills, who was admitted to hospital on Dec 13, breathed last this afternoon.

Of the 101 patients admitted in hospitals here, 45 are still in the ICU and 20 on ventilator support. About 54 patients had been shifted to the wards.

Bengaluru, May 2: Former chief minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah have urged the state government to arrange free-transport facilities to those stranded labourers and their family members to return their native places.

In a statement issued here on Friday, the former chief minister criticised the State Government for having decided to collect bur fare from them, ''three-times more than the regular fare''.

Stating that the migrant labourers, who had been stranded ever since lockdown had been clamped in the entire country are not in a position to pay for their travel, Siddaramaiah urged the state government to treat them with human face.

Kalaburagi, Jan 21: A team of bomb disposal squad along with sniffer dog visited Kalaburagi Railway Station on Tuesday morning.

In the wake of the bomb found at Mangalore Airport on Monday morning, the team visited the railway station as a precautionary measure.

Udupi, Jan 14: The Udupi district police on Tuesday arrested two suspected terrorists at the Indrali railway station in Udupi.

The two, who had reportedly arrived from Kerala at around 6 ap.m., were standing at the Indrali railway station platform.

Suspicious of their behaviour, the police took them to custody and subjected them to interrogation.

According to reports the duo had involved in the murder of Tamil Nadu police Special Sub-Inspector Wilson.

However, top cop of the district has refused to comment regarding the arrest of the youths.
