Mumbai, Oct 22: With films such as "Munna Bhai MBBS", "Lage Raho Munnabhai, "3 Idiots" and "PK" to his credit, Rajkumar Hirani is one of the most sought-after directors in Bollywood, but the filmmaker believes there is no formula for success in movies.

The National Award-winning director says, for him, no film can be charted under the category of bad cinema and he believes only hard work can help one improve.

In an interview with news agency, Hirani says, "(All my films have been a success). But that doesn't mean I will never fail. There is no guarantee or formula (for success). You look at every filmmaker's work, there are ups and downs.

"There is no good or bad cinema, there are films that connect either less or more with audience. One just has to strive to work hard and give their best."

The director is aware about the audience's expectations, but says he does not feel the pressure and the urge to perform well every time comes from within.

"I don't think anybody can put pressure on you, only you can put pressure on yourself as you want to make good films.

"The pressure is always there to make good films, but that is more from your mindset, either you have it or you don't have it. One must always attempt to make good films, even if you fail it is ok. It is a journey, you have both good and bad days."

Hirani's next directorial venture is the Dutt biopic, which features Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt. Actors Manisha Koirala and Paresh Rawal will be essaying the role of Dutt's parents Nargis Dutt and Sunil Dutt.

Also featuring Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor and Dia Mirza, the movie will open in cinemas in March next year.

Mumbai, Jul 3: Renowned Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan died early on Friday morning due to cardiac arrest. She was 71.

The three-time National Award winner, who had choreographed some of the most memorable songs in Hindi cinema, was not keeping well for some time.

She was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra last Saturday after she complained of breathing issues. The mandatory COVID-19 test done at the hospital showed a negative result.

“She passed away due to cardiac arrest at around 2.30 a.m. at the hospital,” Khan’s nephew Manish Jagwani said.

In a career spanning over four decades, Khan is credited with choreographing more than 2,000 songs, including Dola Re Dola from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas, Ek Do Teen from Madhuri Dixit-starrer Tezaab and Ye Ishq Haaye from Jab We Met in 2007.

She last choreographed for Tabaah Hogaye, featuring Madhuri from filmmaker Karan Johar’s production Kalank in 2019.

New Delhi, Jun 24: Actor Bhumi Pednekar supported migrant labourers traveling long distances amid the coronavirus pandemic, in a rather unique way- by donating footwear to them.

The gut-wrenching images of migrants walking barefoot on the roads made the 'Pati Patni Aur Woh' actor take the plunge to help them.

Pednekar joined hands with a footwear company and a volunteer-based non-government organisation - The Robin Hood Army - to help the underprivileged with footwear.

The actor helped over 1000 migrant labourers in and around Ghaziabad in Murad Nagar, Govindpuram, Vijay Nagar, and distributed footwear among men and women across age-groups.
