Tiger Shroff: Father is always tensed about audience acceptance for me

Mumbai, Apr 11: Actor Tiger Shroff says his father Jackie Shroff, who has enjoyed the adulation of his fans for years, is always tensed about how the audience will accept him.

Tiger"My father is always tensed and scared on how the audience will (react)...Accept me or not. Being a son of a talented and great actor like him, there is pressure, and there are expectations. He understands that," Tiger said. "Every star son has to face this thing. I work very hard to make my father and mother proud. That is my goal." According to Tiger, his father loved the trailer of his upcoming film 'Baaghi'. "My family is very happy about this film. My father doesn't speak much but I could sense that he is very happy. The biggest high for me is when my parents are happy." In his debut film 'Heropanti', Tiger stunned everyone with his action and dancing skills. Now for his second film 'Baaghi' the young actor has learnt Kalaripayattu, an ancient martial art form from Kerala.

Chief Commando trainer Grandmaster Shifuji Shaurya Bharadwaj has trained the 26-year-old actor in Kalaripayattu. In the film as well, Bharadwaj will be seen as the trainer of Tiger. "Before I met him (Chief Commando Trainer Grandmaster Shifuji Shaurya Bharadwaj) there was pressure. My master is a talented person and praticener of this art. With 'Baaghi' we go ahead and treat the audience with something new to watch on screen," he said. "I have tried my best to do justice to this art form. Whatever I have learnt so far, I want to up my quotient in action," he added.

Through 'Baaghi' the makers wants to promote this art form practised by warriors. "It is about going back to our roots and being proud of what we are. We had martial arts form here but don't know why people were not using it. Everybody in the East wants to be like West and people in West wants to be like East," Tiger said. The film directed by Sabbir Khan also stars Shraddha Kapoor in the lead.

Mumbai, Jun 4: Casting director Krish Kapur, who had worked on films like Mahesh Bhatt's Jalebi and Kriti Kharbanda-starrer Veere Ki Wedding, passed away at the age of 28 due to brain hemorrhage, his family said.

There was speculation that Kapur died in a road accident but his maternal uncle, Sunil Bhalla, dismissed the reports, saying that the casting director fainted at his home in suburban Mira Road here and suffered brain hemorrhage.

According to Bhalla, Kapur breathed his last on May 31.

"He had no medical history. He was healthy and doing absolutely fine. On May 31, he just collapsed and started to bleed. He died of brain hemorrhage," Bhalla said on Wednesday.

Kapur is survived by his mother, wife and seven-year-old child.

Mumbai, Jul 11: Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan announced on Twitter late on Saturday that he tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection.

Taking to Twitter to announce the news, he said, "I have tested CoVID positive... " He added that family and staff had also undergone tests while Bachchan has been shifted to a hospital. 

Bachchan ended his tweet saying, "All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested !"

Bachchan, who was last seen in Gulabo Sitabo that released on OTT platforms, will be seen in Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Bhrahmastra.

New Delhi, Apr 7: Actor Disha Patani on Tuesday extended her warm wishes to legendary martial artist and actor Jackie Chan on his birthday.

The 'Baaghi 2' took to Instagram to share a throwback picture of herself with the Hong Kong-based actor and reminisced the times when she got the opportunity to work with him.

"Happiest b'day taguuu this was the first time I met you, I remember being so nervous but It turned out to be the best day of my life, getting an opportunity to work with my "superhero" is the best thing that has ever happened to me," she wrote in the caption.

"You teach people to be giving, loving and hardworking, thank you for blessing the world with your unreal performances and the most unforgettable life risking action sequences. Nobody can ever be "jackie chan" love you the most @jackiechan," she added.

Disha Patani and Jackie Chan worked together in a Chinese adventure comic film 'Kung Fu Yoga'.

The film was released worldwide in 2017 and it later became the highest-grossing film of Jackie Chan in China.

Besides Disha, the film also had two other Bollywood actors - Sonu Sood and Amyra Dastur.

Jackie Chan turned 66 today. He was many laurels to his name including the prestigious Oscar Award which was handed over to him in 2016 for his extraordinary achievements in the cinema industry.
