Dubai: UAE Bunts are all set for the mega event of their 43rd Annual Family Get-together to be held on May 19, 2017 at Amal Ball Room of JW Marriott Hotel, Dubai at 10:30am.
The cultural celebrations are expected to be attended by over 1500 members from all over UAE and Gulf. UAE level Group Dance Competition for Children & Adults will be organized.
The other special attraction of the day is "PORLUDA SAMSAARA" for which the auditions are already been conducted and 7 couples have been selected for the final show which will be a very attractive event of the day on May19. The winning family will be awarded PORLUDA SAMSAARA title and offered loads of prizes along with the stay in a five star resort.
The Event will be compered by very popular emerging young Bunt talent Mr. Saiheel Rai from Mangalore followed by Nishan Rai a famous young singer who was the finalist of Kannada Sa Re Ga Ma Pa will be with us. Live Orchestra by Bunt singers.
The Chief Guest of the day will be Hon.Justice Santhosh Hegde, Former Judge of Supreme Court of India, former Solicitor General of India and Former Lokayukta of Karnataka State along with Bollywood Celebrity Guest Ms. Pooja Hedge from Mumbai. On this auspicious occasion, the Guest of Honour Hon.Justice Santhosh Hegde will be honoured with “Bunta Vibhooshana” special award for his selfless service to the society. Hon. Justice Santhosh Hedge was born on June 16, 1940 in Nitte village of Karkala in Udupi district, he is the son of former Supreme Court judge Late K S Hegde and Late Meenakshi Hegde and brother of N Vinay Hegde, the Chancellor of Nitte University. After his early education at St Aloysius School in Mangalore and Madras Christian College, Hegde completed his BSc from Central College, Bangalore and went on to have a degree in Law from Government Law College, Bangalore, now known as University Law College.
A highly disciplined man, Justice Hegde, as the Lokayukta of Karnataka, has proved a nightmare to the corrupt officials and bureaucrats. Determined to root out corruption from the society, he strongly believes that this can be achieved if the younger generation makes up its mind. He has been oft and again giving a clarion call to the students to raise voice against corruption. During his tenure, several skeletons have rolled down the cupboards of various government departments in various parts of the state and several officers trapped for possessing disproportionate wealth. But the dangerous tentacles of this evil called corruption is continuing to spread far and wide and it is only determined efforts on the part of the society that can crack down this menace.
Pooja Hegde Born and brought up in Mumbai, former beauty pageant contestant Pooja was crowned as the second runner-up at Miss Universe India 2010. She continued to work in TV commercials like Lays with Ranbir Kapoor, Zoya jewellery, Hero Maestro with Ranbir Kapoor etc. Her latest TVC was opposite Varun Dhawan for Maaza. Pooja made her acting debut in Mysskin. Tamil superhero film Mugamoodi (2012), opposite Jiiva and Narain. She then featured in the Telugu film Oka Laila Kosam (2014), opposite Naga Chaitanya. She also starred in Mukunda (2014), opposite Varun Tej. After being discovered by Ashutosh Gowariker’s wife in an advertisement, Pooja went ahead to sign onto feature as the lead actress in Gowariker’s Mohenjo Daro opposite Hrithik Rohsan. Her next project is a Telugu film titled – DJ, opposite Allu Arjun. The film is directed by Harish Shanker and is all set to release on the 23rd of June.
During the programme UAE Bunts are privileged to honour Bunts students who have achieved marks 90% and above in 10th and 12th, Bunts students excelled in the field of sports and other achievements like Sheikh Hamdan Awards/Sharjah Awards during the year 2016/2017.
