Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 12: UAE Red Crescent Authority will provide Rs 20 crore aid to Kerala to build housing complexes for flood victims.
An agreement in this regard was signed between Red Crescent Deputy Secretary-General for International Aid Affairs, Fahad Abdul Rahman Bin Sultan, and Kerala Chief Secretary Tom Jose here on Thursday.
The Red Crescent extended its help following a visit of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to UAE last year to mobilise funds for rehabilitation of flood victims, sources said.
The Chief Minister, who thanked the Red Crescent for its humanitarian aid, said the present financial aid is only a part of a series of relief measures from the UAE.
