Udupi: Vice principal held for forcibly kissing, sexually harassing student

amar Kundapur, Apr 14: A vice principal of a private nursing and commerce college located at Koteshwara in Kundapur taluk of Udupi district has been arrested by police on charge of forcibly kissing and sexually harassing a student on the campus.

Both accused and victim are natives of Kerala. Vice principal Amar was detained after a first year B.Com student lodged a complaint against him.

In her complaint the girl had accused Amar of constantly harassing for a several days and sending sexually explicit messages to her and other girls.

On one occasion the accused dragged her towards him, held her in inappropriate ways and forcibly kissed her, she complained.

She also accused a female teacher, identified as Deepa, of destroying the evidence by deleting the messages sent by Amar under the pretext of checking them.

The girl said that Amar threatened to rusticate her from the college if she brings the issue to the notice of others.

Amar was produced before a court after registering a case. Investigations are on.

before appointing any person as a principal institution must properly check their background. look at his face in any angle he doesnt look like a principal even attender job is also not suiting for him.

govt should take serious action against this issue all over, must install camera's all over the school so they are afraid of doing this things.

Mangaluru: 16 people suffering from fever, cold tested negative for COVID-19

Mangaluru, Apr 4: No positive case of coronavirus has been detected in Dakshina Kannada district as per the latest update released by the district administration on Friday.

Test results of throat swab samples of 16 people with suspected symptoms were received today and all of them were negative.

A total of 38,518 people have been screened for coronavirus in Dakshina Kannada district till date with 72 people being screened today.

2 killed as vegetable-laden truck rams into roadside pole in Udupi

Udupi, Jun 18: Two youths lost their lives in a ghastly road mishap involving a vegetable-laden mini truck near Santhekatte in Udupi today.

The deceased have been identified as Dinesh (35) and Manjunath (21), both hailed from Balkur village in Kundapur taluk.

The accident took place at around 7 a.m. when the mini truck was carrying vegetables from Kundapur to Udupi.

According to sources, Dinesh, who was driving the vehicle, lost control and rammed into a pole next to the national highway.

Both Dinesh and his assistant Manjunath suffered head injuries in the accident. They were rushed to Ajjarkad district hospital where they were declared dead on arrival.

Karnataka BJP urges Modi govt to ban PFI, SDPI

Bengaluru, Jan 29: The Karnataka unit of BJP has urged the Centre and the State governments to ban the Popular Front of India (PFI) and the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), accusing them of harbouring terrorist tendencies.

Addressing a press meet, N Ravi Kumar, state general secretary of the party, alleged that there was a nexus between the Congress, the PFI and the SDPI.

“Recent reports have exposed the links between the PFI and the Congress,” he said, accusing Congress leader Kapil Sibal of receiving huge funds from PFI to defend their cases in the Supreme Court.

He also accused the organisations as the ones responsible for the death of 23 Hindu activists in Karnataka. Such incidents have proven that both SDPI and PFI are dubious organisations, he said.
