Addressing media persons in the city on Sunday, Mr Khader reiterated that the allegation of a multi-crore drug purchase scam under the National Rural Health Mission in the Health and Family Welfare Department made by BJP leader and former BBMP councillor NR Ramesh is a sheer lie intended to mislead the people.

However, Mr Khader announced that a probe will be conducted into the matter. He also said he would bring out a White Paper on utilisation of funds under the NRHM scheme in Bengaluru.

“Some politicians have a bad habit of seeking attention of public with the help of shameless statements. Mr Ramesh also is following the same path. His intention is to come to limelight by defaming the health ministry,” Mr Khader said.

The minister said he was ready for any kind of probe and his department was an “open book” for all. However, he would hold discussions with officials and make efforts to unearth irregularities, if any, in utilisation of funds under the NRHM scheme.
