Watch: Aamir Khan's Dangal 'Fat to Fit' video does not tell you about health risks

December 2, 2016

Mumbai, Dec 2: Earlier this week, the makers of Dangal released a video depicting Aamir Khan's transformation — from 97 kg to a toned avatar with six-pack abs. Khan went through the process in order to portray the different life stages of Mahavir Phogat, a former Haryanvi wrestler, on whose life Dangal is based.

aamirThe video evoked a huge response from fans who were awestruck by Khan's metamorphosis. While Khan did insert a disclaimer that he received constant supervision from health experts and fitness trainers, there was apparently a fact that he chose to conceal.

Fitness and wellness coach Ranveer Allahbadia has alleged that Khan gained the muscle mass, that he is sporting in the promos, with the aid of steroids or growth hormones. In a video posted on his Facebook page called BeerBiceps, he argues how it is impossible for Khan to achieve that physique without the additional support of steroids.

He provides three arguments that justify his allegation: Firstly, he asks the viewers to compare Khan's evolution to that of fitness freak Akshay Kumar. While Kumar remained fit throughout his career, Khan gained a lot of muscles within a short span of time in the recent past. Allahbadia claims that gaining so much of muscle mass takes a much longer time period of five to six years. Since Khan achieved it in months, it is hard to believe that he did so without injecting steroids into his body. The steroids help one's body to synthesize protein more rapidly and consequently gain muscle mass more quickly.

In his second argument, Allahbadia points out how the age factor comes into play. He says that the testosterone levels in the body of 50 year-olds like Khan is very low which prevents the body from becoming so bulky. Thus, supplements in the form of steroids play a huge role in attaining the look that Khan sports in the promos.

His final argument analyses the shape of Khan's physique. He draws an analogy to a UFC wrestler demonstrating how the shape of one's deltoid muscles determine whether one has used steroids or not. He shows a picture of Khan from his training schedule which clearly highlights his bulging deltoid muscles.

Allahbadia confesses that though he is an ardent admirer of Khan, he is sure that a majority of film actors use steroids to sport that ripped shirtless look on celluloid. He adds that he intends to educate Khan's followers about the unrealistic physique goals that they are nurturing in their minds and about the harmful side-effects of steroids.

"Even though he is the host of Satyamev Jayate, don't think that Aamir Khan has come out all clean," says Allahbadia.

Indore, Jun 6: An FIR has been registered against television producer Ekta Kapoor and two others here in Madhya Pradesh on charges of spreading obscenity, hurting religious feelings, and improper use of national emblems in her web show 'Triple X season 2', police said on Saturday.

The FIR also mentions about a particular scene which allegedly portrays the Indian Army's uniform in a highly objectionable way, an officer said.

Besides Kapoor, the FIR names director of the web series Pankhudi Rodrigues and screenwriter Jessica Khurana, said Annapurna police station inspector Satish Kumar Dwivedi.

The complaint was lodged on Friday night by Valmik Sakaragaye and Neeraj Yagnik, both residents of Indore.

"Ekta Kapoor's OTT platform ALTBalaji streamed (erotic) web series 'Triple X season 2' which not only spread obscenity but also hurt religious feelings of a particular community," Dwivedi said quoting the complaint.

A scene in the web show portrayed the Indian Army's uniform in a highly objectionable manner and also disrespected the national emblems, he said.

Kapoor and others have been booked under sections 294 (obscene acts and songs) and 298 (Uttering, words, etc., with deliberate intent to wound the religious feelings of any person) of the Indian Penal Code, Information Technology (IT) Act, and the State Emblem of India (Prohibition of Improper Use) Act, 2005, Dwivedi said.

Mumbai-based Ekta Kapoor is the founder of ALTBalaji, which is owned by her production house, Balaji Telefilms.

Further investigation is underway, the police officer said.

New Delhi, Jun 2: After Amitabh Bachchan, it is actor Akshay Kumar, who has come forward to support Bhumi Pednekar's initiative -- Climate Warrior -- urging the people to plant trees.

Bhumi Pednekar has sought to bring Bollywood together to spread awareness about mother nature through her campaign in view of the coming World Environment Day (June 5).

The campaign endeavours to get leaders from the entertainment industry to tell what is the 'one wish they have for the earth.'

Following the thread, the 'Kesari' actor was seen raising his voice on issues, and have taken steps to bring awareness to important causes like climate change.

"Our Beautiful Planet that has sustained us now needs us to protect it more than ever. During this time we as a community must tread carefully and act immediately" Akshay Kumar was seen saying in a video posted by Pednekar on Instagram.

"A lot of damage has been done and climate change is a grave reality that all of us are facing," he added.

Explaining his one wish to rebuild mother nature, is, as he says: "The simplest act of planting trees."

"I consider this as one of the most basic and efficient deeds that we can exercise individually and also urge others to do so. Let us do our bit to heal and rebuild the only planet we have. So join me and become a Climate Warrior," the 'Padman' actor concluded.

Ahead of the World Environment Day, and in support of Bhumi's initiative, legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan earlier in the day also pledged to be 'climate-conscious' in a bid to protect nature.
