Welfare schemes for differently abled children launched at Kemral

Mangaluru, Feb 18: Chaithanya Manava Vikasa Kendra, an organization dedicated to the welfare of differently abled people, launched various schemes and training programmes for mentally challenged and differently abled children at its head office at Kemral near Haleangady in Mangaluru recently.

Kemral Gram Panchayat President Nagesh Anchan inaugurated the schemes by lighting the lamp. President of Chaithanya Seva Trust Devadas Kulai presided overe the function.

Mennabettu Gram Panchayat President Sarojini S. Gujaran, Gracy Pinto from Mangaluru and Mulky Deputy Tahsildar Nithyananda were chief guests.

Geetha Devadas Kulai, Coordinator, DK Sarva Shikshana Abhiyana, was present on the occasion.

Trustee Ramanath Kotekar welcomed the gathering. A member of the Trust Leeladhar Tanneerbhavi proposed a vote of thanks.

Trustees and local people’s representatives were among others present on the occasion.

Mandya, Jul 6: With a journalist from Srirangapatna testing positive for Covid-19, the Mandya District Journalists Association was sealed as a precautionary measure.

Association President K C Manjunath said on Monday that as the reporter has tested positive for Covid-19, it was voluntarily decided to seal down the premises for another month.

Puttur, May 9: City based Team B-Human today distributed Ramadan kits among 70 families in Koodu Raste Jamaat and 30 families in Papetthadka Jamaat in Puttur taluk. 

This was the second phase of Ramadan kit distributions carried out by the Team B-Human. So far the team distributed Ramadan kits among 200 families in three different Jamaat.

Koodu Raste Juma Masjid Khateeb Yaqoob Darimi offered dua before distribution.  Team B-Human members Ashraf Aina group, Althaf, Shia Deals, Ahnaf Deals, Abdul Shukoor Haji, and E-Friends founder president Imtiyaz Perla, Saleem U B of Youth Congress, Juma Masjid president P K Mohammad Shafi Papettadka were present. 

A release issued by the Team B-Human sated that it distributed food among 35,000 people since April 23. The beneficiaries include a large number of migrant workers irrespective of their caste and religion. It also arranged Iftar and Suhoor for around 450 stranded migrants every day.

Asif Deals, found of Team B-Human, said that in next phases more Ramadan kits will be distributed among needy families in some jamaats.
