Would love Sara to be launched by Karan Johar: Saif Ali Khan

Mumbai, Feb 21: Putting all rumours of his disapproval to rest, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has said he would be more than happy if his Karan Johar launches gives a break to his daughter Sara.

saifRecent rumours suggest Sara Ali Khan will make her Bollywood debut with Punit Malhotra’s Student of the Year 2 - a sequel to the 2012 hit film that launched Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra in the industry. Karan Johar will produce the movie that stars Tiger Shroff in the lead role.

“I would love Sara to be launched by Karan Johar. He is one of the best that we have,” Saif, 46, said in a statement.

The Phantom actor added, “I keep reading various reports where I am supposedly averse to her getting launched by Karan because she will apparently become another Alia Bhatt.

“If Sara becomes as successful as Alia is then it will be a matter of pride and happiness for all of us,” he added

Sara’s mother Amrita Singh and Tiger’s father Jackie Shroff worked in four films together and now, their children will be working together. Alia Bhatt, Varun Dawan and Sidharth Malhotra rose to fame in 2012, following the release of Student of the Year.

Los Angeles, Feb 21: Nepalese-Australian actor Dichen Lachman has joined the cast of the third film in the Jurassic World franchise.

Lachman, best known for Netflix series Altered Carbon and TNT show Animal Kingdom, is the latest addition to the Colin Trevorrow-directed picture, reported Deadline.

Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment project will see Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard reprise their roles. Mamoudou Athie and DeWanda Wise are also part of the cast.

The movie marks the return of original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum.

Trevorrow has co-written the script of the new film with Emily Carmichael. He will also executive produce the film with Steven Spielberg.

Jurassic World 3 hits theatres on June 11, 2021.

Mumbai, Mar 7: A 'farm-to-fork' themed restaurant 'He-Man' situated on National Highway in Haryana's Karnal -- franchised by veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra -- has been sealed for building law violations, officials said on Saturday.

The Karnal Municipal Corporation sealed the franchise outlet on Friday for not furnishing the change of land use (CLU) certificate and illegal constructions, an official said.

The restaurant is located on National Highway 44 on the outskirts of Karnal, some 150 km from here.

The franchise was given to Delhi-based businessman Pramod Kumar.

"After the success of my restaurant Garam Dharam Dhaba, I am now announcing a farm-to- fork themed restaurant 'He-Man'," Dharmendra had announced on Instagram after its launch on Valentine's Day.

Karnal Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav said the action was initiated as the restaurant owner did not respond to MC notice on the issue.

Mumbai, Jul 3: Renowned Bollywood choreographer Saroj Khan died early on Friday morning due to cardiac arrest. She was 71.

The three-time National Award winner, who had choreographed some of the most memorable songs in Hindi cinema, was not keeping well for some time.

She was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra last Saturday after she complained of breathing issues. The mandatory COVID-19 test done at the hospital showed a negative result.

“She passed away due to cardiac arrest at around 2.30 a.m. at the hospital,” Khan’s nephew Manish Jagwani said.

In a career spanning over four decades, Khan is credited with choreographing more than 2,000 songs, including Dola Re Dola from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas, Ek Do Teen from Madhuri Dixit-starrer Tezaab and Ye Ishq Haaye from Jab We Met in 2007.

She last choreographed for Tabaah Hogaye, featuring Madhuri from filmmaker Karan Johar’s production Kalank in 2019.
