Is Balochistan more important for you than Karnataka: UTK asks Modi

Mangaluru, Sep 21: Expressing concern over Prime Minister Narnendra Modi's reluctance to intervene in Cauvery river water dispute, Congress leader UT Khader has reminded him that Karnataka is an integral part of India and not Balochistan.

utkmodiMr Khader, who is also the minister for food and civil supplies and consumer affairs in Karnataka, said: Mr Modi has so much of concern over the developments in Balochistan, but is least bothered about the injustice that Karnataka is facing on this vital issue. “Is Balochistan more important for you than Karnataka,” Mr Khader questioned.

In a press communique issued on Tuesday in the aftermath of the Supreme Court verdict, mr Khader said the verdict of the apex court is unfortunate. The Supreme Court directed the state to release 6,000 cusecs of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu for seven days starting September 21.

"Karnataka is facing repeated injustice on the issue and the dispute between the two states has not yet been comprehensively resolved," Khader said.

The direction to set up Cauvery Management Board is truly surprising, Khader said adding this has only further complicated the issue between the neighbouring states rather than solve it. "The Supreme Court has only given its judgement on the Cauvery water issue but not provided justice," Mr Khader said, adding that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has been trying to draw attention of the PM to this issue for the past one week, without success.

With the PMO still not giving Siddaramaiah an appointment, this is a gross affront to people of the state, he said adding that PM Modi rather than solve a tricky water sharing issue between two states is showing overt concern to the Balochistan issue.

"It is time for all the members of parliament to collectively meet the Prime Minister and bring pressure on him to intervene in the issue and provide justice to the state," Mr Khader demanded.

Balochistan may be important for him, may be next he will run for UN Gen. Secretary's post.

Another important thing from his speech, \When terrorists killed school children in Balochistan, Hindustan, Parliament had tears. Every Indian school was in tears.\"
But, what happened to his \"Tears\" when Gujarat terror happened?? when unborn babies are killed in mother's wombs????"

Good points by Mr Prajwal. These days all bachchalis pose questions to Modiji just to get publicity. That's the power of 'NaMo Naamochchara'

Mr Khader!
You know that Karnataka is integral part of India. But, Modiji knows that both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu are integral parts of India. Where were you when Manmohan Singh was India's PM? Did he intervene in Cauvery row? Did he help Kannadigas?

Newsroom, Apr 30: Beleaguered billionaire B R Shetty, who went into hiding after after a multi-billion fraud at UAE-based NMC Health came to light, has now put the blame on his companies employees.

The former chairman of the Abu Dhabi headquartered hospital operator said, investigations he commissioned found following things:

1. The fraudulent creation and operating of bank accounts in my name including many fraudulent transfers that I neither authorised, consented to, or had any knowledge of.

2. The fraudulent creation of loans, personal guarantees, cheques and bank transfers in my name, and using my forged signature, that I neither authorised, consented to, or had any knowledge of.

3. The creation and set-up of companies in my name that I neither authorised, consented to, or had any knowledge of, and that were seemingly created with the express intention to commit or conceal fraud.

4. The fraudulent creation of powers of attorney, and the misuse of existing powers of attorney, again in my name, that I that I neither authorised, consented to, or had any knowledge of.

5. The creation and provision to me of false and misleading financial statements and information regarding the performance of some of my private companies and investments by members of my own management team.

6. The payments of expenses using my private companies and personal bank accounts, I believe to hide the true financials of the public companies."

This is the first time Dr. Shetty, who is reportedly hiding in India for the last couple of months, issued a statement based on investigations he commissioned privately. He had brought in a consultancy to conduct it after initial revelations came to light that NMC Health had not been fully transparent with its finances.

Dr. Shetty had stepped down as executive chairman after the then Board of Directors barred him from attending any meetings. “I intend to work tirelessly to clear my name and assist any authorities in getting to the truth and help them ensure that misappropriated or missing funds are returned by the perpetrators to their rightful owners,” said Dr. Shetty.

This month, ADCB, which has the highest exposure among UAE banks to NMC Health, brought charges against five former officials, including ex-board of directors, with Abu Dhabi prosecution. The former CEOs of NMC Health and Finablr are also currently not in the UAE.

Bengaluru, Jul 17: Lashing out at Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa-led government over the handling of coronavirus crisis, Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar on Thursday demanded Governor's rule in the state. He also took a dig at Health Minister B Sriramulu's "Only God can save us" remark.

"I heard the statement of Sriramulu and Sudhakar. They have said that they cannot manage this (coronavirus crisis) and they leave it to God who can save Karnataka. If such is the case, they could not solve the problems of the people of Karnataka. It is time now they must resign and let the Governor's rule come into force. The time has come for all of them to step down," Shivakumar said.

Taking to Twitter, Sriramulu said that the KPCC president misinterpreted his statement.

He said that Opposition allegations of negligence and incapability of the government and irresponsibility of ministers are "far from the truth".

The minister said that people should be made aware of the prevention of coronavirus as it plays a very important role in the prevention of infection.

"Here are the cautioning words, 'If you stumble, only God has to save us.' The government, our Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and ministers are working day and night. We are working for the people, to effectively face this century's challenge," he tweeted.

As many as 4,169 new COVID-19 cases and 104 deaths were reported in Karnataka on Thursday, taking the total number of cases to 51,422 cases including 19,729 recoveries and 1,032 deaths.

Bengaluru reported 2,344 new cases and 70 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the state health department.
