The 36-year-old woman was assaulted last Tuesday in the Mahasamund district, some 75 km from state capital Raipur.

The police say the woman was taken away from behind her house on Tuesday night. She was with her sister when the accused men, Devendra, Farid Ali and Prince Saluja allegedly drove up and forced her into their car.

The three allegedly raped the woman and also filmed her, threatening to post the clip online if she went to the police.

The woman complained to the police the next day. All three have been arrested and charged with gang-rape and criminal intimidation.

"The incident shows depraved mentality. The punishment for such people should be an example," said Chief Minister Raman Singh, who heads the state's BJP government.

Prince Saluja, whose father once held a BJP post at the sub-district level, was missing for hours until he was caught today. In various photos that have surfaced in the media, Prince is seen pointing at his SUV or holding a rifle.

Pls dont link this issue to BJP as it has nothing to do with it. Crime done by the son of Leader is his own decision. BJP is free from all types of crimes/ goondagiri etc.

Bengaluru, May 12: In a scathing attack on the ruling BJP in Karnataka and warning the Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa government against any move to amend the Labour laws and APMC through an ordinance, former chief minister and JDS leader H D Kumaraswamy on Tuesday asked Mr Yediyurappa to work in the interest of the people and not to budge under any pressure from the Centre or to please party bosses.

Speaking to media here on Tuesday he questioned the urgency to bring forward such ordinances on important subjects and asked the government to have a public debate on it and also discuss it in the assembly.

“I'm warning the government… I have been watching everything silently till now, I have not caused any embarrassment to the government. I want to tell the government, don’t push us to do it,” Kumaraswamy said

Kannur, Jan 23: A member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has been arrested for attempting to create unrest in Kerala by hurling crude bombs at RSS office and police picket. The miscreants had reportedly planned to pass the blame on others.

The bomb attack took place of January 16 in Kerala’s Kannur. The accused Prabesh, an RSS hardliner, was arrested from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

According to the Kerala police Prabesh hurled steel bombs towards the police picket in front of Kathirur Manoj Smrithi Kendram, an RSS office.

"He threw bombs during the wee hours of January 16 morning. Following the arrest he has confessed that his aim was RSS office. Kannur, being politically sensitive region, any attack on political party offices will be regarded as an act by the opponent," Kathirur SI Nijeesh said.

"We had a police picket in the region for a few months now. We are assuming he wanted to create unrest in the area by removing the police from the spot. We could contain the situation because of the CCTV visuals. He was identified immediately after the incident. Following the attack he went to Coimbatore and was hiding there. Our team nabbed him from Coimbatore," he said.

The police have also said that the accused Prabesh had many criminal cases pending against him including those under Explosive Substances Act, 1883. He was nabbed by a team lead by Kathirur SI Nijeesh, CPO Rohith and Vijeesh.

The RSS office in the region is named after Kathirur Manoj a senior karyakarta (worker) who was allegedly killed by the CPI(M) activists in 2014. Kathirur Manoj was the prime accused in the attempt to murder of senior CPI(M) leader P Jayarajan in 1999.
