Chikkamagaluru, Sept 10: A 35-year-old man beheaded his wife, packed her head into a bag and walked into a police station with the severed head to surrender. The chilling incident happened at Ajjampura in Karnataka’s malnad district of Chikkamagaluru.

It is learnt that Satish while returning home found his wife, Roopa, with another man identified as Sunil. In a fit of anger, Satish decapitated his wife with a machete while injuring her paramour, who managed to escape.

A video that captured Satish's act and justifications has gone viral on the social media. He also holds a machete used for the crime.

Satish had married Roopa 9 years ago. The couple have two children Ganesh (7) and Lakshmi (4). He was a driver with a private bus operator in Bengaluru before starting a poultry stall.

Cracks had begun in his domestic life about two years ago when he saw her with Sunil, a daily-wage labour. There used to be frequent fights between the two as she would often visit Sunil, who, as per Satish's claims, has many criminal cases.

"I took care of her and loved deeply, but she backstabbed me. She would spend time with him though I was her husband," Satish is seen as saying in the video.

"I had requested her to quit his association and work in my stall, but she hadn't heeded to my request. She would be with him in compromising positions in bathroom," he says in the video.

"A month ago, elders had finalised a compromise. She had given in writing to the elders that she would part ways with me and children. I wanted to kill him, but he escaped," adds Satish, who later led the police to the spot where he had killed her with a machete.

The police booked Satish under IPC section 302 (murder) and arrested him. The body was handed over after post-mortem at community health centre, Ajjampur.

Bengaluru, July 23: The Janta Dal (Secular) and Congress that had joined hands together in Karnataka ‘to keep communal forces at bay, have once again turned archrivals. The development comes a year after the collapse of JD(S)-Congress coalition government in the state.

Recently, Leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah claimed that the Congress would have won at least 10 seats in the Lok Sabha elections had it not been for the alliance with the JD(S). In response, former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy of the JD(S), who headed the coalition government, blamed the Congress for its many 'conspiracies'.

In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Kumaraswamy said he was prompted by Siddarmaiah's claims to recall what transpired during the coalition government.

"There will never be a future alliance with Congress," Kumaraswamy declared, in a letter to his party colleagues on Wednesday. He claimed that there were many conspiracies on part of Congress, which led to the fall of the coalition government.

What benefit govt is giving us so that we can transfer the same goodness to our workers? Or are the funds only to buy and sell MLA?
