Attempts to hoist separate statehood flag during Rajyotsava foiled

Kalaburagi , Nov 1: Attempt to hoist a separate statehood flag of Kalyan Karnataka by members various organisations to boycott Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations was foiled by police here city on Friday.

Members of the Hyderabad Karnataka Pratyeka Kalyan Karnataka Rajya Horata Samiti president M S Patail Naribol and a few others, who tried to break the police cordon at Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Chowk, were stopped and prevented from hoisting the flags bearing the map of the Kalyan Karnataka region.

Later, they sat on a dharna near S V Chowk and raised slogans against state government for neglecting the region and not properly implementing Article 371 (J).

Mangaluru, Jun 29: A three year old child lost its life after being hit by a car at Nadupadavu village under the limits of Konaje police station on the outskirts of the city today. 

The victim has been identified as Faheema (3), daughter of  Farooq, a resident of Nadupadavu. 

The mishap occurred when the girl ran towards the road when the car was entering a main road from an inner road.

Bengaluru, Jul 22: A total of 4,764 new COVID-19 cases and 55 deaths were reported in Karnataka in the last 24 hours.

Out of the new cases, 2,050 cases were reported in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

The total number of active cases stands at 47,069, said the state Health Department.

Death toll rises to 1,519 in the state.

Bengaluru, Apr 30: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, has directed the Bengaluru City Police to return all the vehicles, which were seized during the Coronavirus Lockdown period, for having flouted rules.

The City Police Commissioner, Bhaskar Rao, informed that it was decided to return the seized vehicles to the owners, after verifying documents.

He said that the vehicles had been seized while enforcing strict guidelines, issued to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, in the city.
