Cops nab 12 for gambling after raid on flat; seize Rs 184 lakh

Bengaluru, Sept 11: Central Crime Branch (CCB) Special Investigation team of the city police have arrested 12 people who had indulged in illegally playing 'under bahar' card game and seized from them Rs 1.
84 lakh stake money.

Police said on Tuesday that the people arrested during a raid on a flat in posh HSBR Layout in the City on Monday night.
They were identified as Kiran, Jayakumar, Lokesh, Satish, Murali, Ajith, Sudhakar, Sampath Kumar, Muthu, Alok, Harish and Ram Prasad.

Banasavadi Police have registered a case and investigating.

Mangaluru, Feb 19: Social worker Tabassum who has been rendering selfless service to HIV/AIDS affected children through her shelter home 'Snehadeep' at Bejai has been selected for the Annual Award of Mangaluru Press Club for the year 2019.

Tabassum, a resident of Konaje was chosen by a team of judges comprising Prof Balakrishna Gatti, Dr Vasanth Kumar Perla and Dr Nagaveni Manchi.

The passion of young  Ms Tabassum and Social Working of today, particularly, gives me lot of hope.  It almost feels like the political class wants to bring down India while the people are so hard working and committed to nation building.

Bengaluru, Jan 1: Karnatak Deputy Chief Minister Govind Karjol has said that the state government wrote to the Centre to fix the technical glitches in FASTag system.

"We have brought this issue to the notice of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari," he told reporters on Tuesday.

In response to the flood relief by the state government, Karjol said that the approximate cost of roads damaged in the floods was Rs 7000 crore and the government would take up the repair works soon.

Bengaluru, May 10: Amid the coronavirus lockdown, two police inspectors were suspended for their alleged involvement in the illegal sale of cigarettes.

"Two police inspectors suspended after an enquiry found their involvement in illegal sale of cigarettes during the lockdown in Bengaluru," informed Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Patil while speaking to news agency.
