HC notice to AK Hegde, CT Ravi over derogatory remarks against Tipu Sultan

The Karnataka High Court has issued notices to Union Minister Anant Kumar Hegde and Chikkamagaluru MLA C T Ravi while hearing a matter regarding their derogatory comments against Tipu Sultan, the 18th century Mysore ruler.

Justice R B Budihal was hearing a petition filed by Alam Pasha challenging the rejection of his private complaint report by the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court.

Pasha had filed a petition seeking directions to the Indiranagar police to file an FIR against Ravi and Hegde for their insensitive remarks.

According to the petitioner, he had given a complaint at the Indiranagar police station. However, the police has not shown any interest in filing the complaint and taking action.

Hegde had called Tipu a "mass rapist" and a "brutal killer" and had conveyed to the state government not to invite him to the "shameful" event of Tipu Jayanti on November 10 last year.

Tipu was the only one King who fought till his last breathe  against british. He was a big treat to British invader which Is still rememered by the Brishers and written in British history. In his kingdom he respected all religion and their worship place. His administration was with all religions. He never spared any single british supporters in some part of MYSORE greedy people supported the Britisher's to enter our Country and cheated the great king. New Delhi, Feb 18: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is holding a daylong meeting with 70 columnists from across India on Tuesday in an effort to clear misconceptions about the organisation, sources said.

RSS chief Bhagwat, who last year met representatives of international media organisations posted in India, is expected to deliver a keynote address that will be followed by a free-flowing conversation, they said.

The 70 columnists attending Tuesday's meeting write in different languages.

The meeting, in Chhattarpur in New Delhi, is a closed-door meeting and the proceedings are "strictly confidential", the sources said

Bengaluru, Jun 24: Three weeks after the BMTC resumed running air-conditioned buses in the state capital, the state-owned Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced plying AC buses to eight cities to begin with, including to Mangaluru and Mysuru, from Thursday.

From tomorrow travellers can travel to Mysuru, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Madikeri, Chikkamagaluru, Davanagere, Shivamogga and Virajpet in AC buses, KSRTC said in a statement released here.

Listing out the measures taken to check the spread of Covid-19, the Corporation said that the temperature inside the buses will be maintained at 24 to 25 degrees Celsius and no blankets will be provided in the night service buses.

Mangaluru, Mar 23: As many as 600 people who arrived from foreign countries are under the surveillance of the district police in the Dakshina Kannada, as a measure to contain the spread of Covid-19, said Superintendent of Police B M Laxmi Prasad on Monday.

The police personnel are visiting their houses in Dakshina Kannada police jurisdiction. They have been asked to remain quarantined at home for 14 days."We have appealed to the local residents to tip the police if they violate the quarantine period,"he added.
