Chhatarpur (MP), Aug 24: A Hindu man and his family here have embraced Islam after allegedly facing social boycott for over 28 years since he married a Muslim woman.

Vinod Prakash Khare (51), a resident of Rajnagar town in the district in Bundelkhand region, said he had married a Muslim woman nearly 28 years back. Post the marriage, his wife was assigned a Hindu name.

However, their alliance was not accepted by the family, relatives and society at large and his family was ostracised, he alleged.

Khare, his wife, daughter and sons converted to Islam on August 21.

"The Hindu society has not been supportive of us. Nobody used to invite us to marriages," he said.

"I was not even allowed to lend a shoulder to my father's body during his funeral procession. In such times, the Muslim society helped us, so our family decided to accept Islam," said the man, who is now rechristened as Ghulam Mohammed.

Rajnagar's sub-divisional magistrate Ravindra Choukse said he was aware about the family's conversion.

"I have got information about the conversion of Khare and his family. In case of any dispute or controversy necessary steps would be taken," Choukse said.

A local leader of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad said they were trying to resolve the family's problems.

"I am in touch with the family. We are working to sort out their problems. They have assured to reconsider their decision," he said.

When the  girl from Non-hindu family married a Hindu man, she was not accepted in Hindu Community.

They dont want someone to join Hindu religion and also  they dont let someone join other religion.

what kind of mentality. Within Hindu community, they dont treat all Hindus equally, A lot of grades, upper, medium, lower, lowest..... 1000 grades.

Is it religion of God. This nothing but Moking the God.

So they have taken the right step, to join Islam which is the real religion, where every teaching goes with science. There is no superstition.

Equal treatment to all and  no discrimination between anyone.

What is religion. Religion is set of commands to be successful come  from the God, who is the wisest.

Remember a religion can not be a religion if it contradicts science.

The Islam  religion is a full of guidance how to live in this world .

It is teaching how to be successful and after the death which is the permenent life for ever (after the death).

Suhaana shuddered with fear as she heard violent banging on her door on Sunday. The atmosphere was charged with communal tension after thousands of ruthless goons supporting contentious Citizens Amendment Act (CAA) launched a bloody onslaught against Muslims in the capital of India.

The family consists of Suhaana (name changed), her partially paralysed husband and two daughters. They are the only Muslim family in Madhuban mohalla of North Ghonda locality in north-east Delhi.

Hearts pounded louder than pounding of the door. Then the banging stopped and noises of men talking loudly came.

"I peeped out from a small window near the kitchen and saw our neighbours standing outside our entrance and arguing with 10-15 unknown people," Suhaana said.

It was the first day of the communal violence, worst in the decades, that fanned out to the entire north-east Delhi over the next three days and claimed at least 42 lives, left over 200 injured and properties worth crores destroyed. The death toll is feared to go up.

Later in the night Suhaana's family moved to one of their Hindu neighbour's house. There are about 30 Hindu households in the mohalla who kept vigil as the atmosphere deteriorated.

The next day, the violence escalated. The neighbours decided to shift Suhaana 's family to Gautampuri for their safety.

Suhaana recounted, "Our neighbours assured us that they are with us but as things were deteriorating, they said they wouldn't be able to protect us if a big mob of hundreds came. They advised us to move to the nearby Gautampuri locality and come back only after things become normal."

Rajkumar Bharadwaj brought the family to Gautampuri in the early hours on February 25.

Anil Gupta, 49, said, "It was tough to rescue them. We were asked by the rioters as to why we were saving the Muslims. But we had to, it is the people of my country who are suffering. It cannot be Hindus or Muslims."

Rajkumar Bharadwaj said, "Their youngest clung to me throughout. After I brought them here at Gautampuri, I felt good. Situation till then was not okay."

On Saturday, some semblance of normalcy returned to parts of north-east Delhi with some people opening their shops amid heavy police presence.

Meanwhile, the morbid sight outside GTB Hospital's mortuary, agonising groans in the hospital wards burnt down houses and shops remind Suhaana and others what they have been spared of.

Hassan, Mar 13: In what could have been a major tragedy, an under construction flyover across Hassan-Mangaluru railway level crossing, near the new KSRTC Bus stand here collapsed today.

Fortunately no casualties occurred despite six concrete beems of 50 feet height, collapsed and broke into pieces.

The much awaited project was completely neglected by the successive governments for over a decade due to politics.  It was sanctioned eight months ago.

The Rs 42 crore project was taken up by a joint venture between state, center and South Eastern railway. The contractor or the Engineer were not present when the incident occurred.

Blaming the contractor, the locals alleged that poor quality of work led to the incident. No contractor or engineer was present even during construction, they added. Siddaiah, who runs an eatery near KSRTC bus stand said that it could have been a major tragedy if people were underneath the flyover when it crashed. The incident should be probe and the contractor should be punished, he added.
