IFF Riyadh Karnataka Chapter hosts ‘Sneha Koota-2016’

India Fraternity Forum Riyadh Karnataka Chapter a non-profit voluntary organization of Indians held a family get together under the banner of “Sneha Koota 2016” event recently at Al-Rushd Resort here in Riyadh.

The event began with recitation of Quran verses by Hafiz Adil Hussain followed by welcome address by Ismail Inoli General Secretary of IFF Riyadh Karnataka Chapter.

IFF Riyadh President Janab Abdul Rauf presided over the program in his presidential speech he explained various welfare works of IFF did in throughout the Saudi Arabia also he interpret the emphasis the necessary of organization.

Dr. Kaiser Parvez, General Physician National Tuberculosis Program Head MOH Riyadh Inaugurate the program by given health tips & spoke on prevention awareness of Zika Virus disease has caused concern in the kingdom, and event guest Mr. Sayed Mozam Ali, Chief Patron of Golden Telangana Welfare Association Riyadh appreciate the IFF’s social works & he calls all organization to work together for Muslim community in his guest speech, IFF Central Region president Janab. Ilyas Tiroor & ISF Riyadh Karnataka wise president Janab. Mustaq Kasim were on dais. Event coordinator Mr. Mohammed Haneef proposed vote of thanks & Br. Shareef Kabaka & Br. Naveed Kundapura anchored the program.

A large number of of Indian Expatriates witnessed the events; the program included a social awareness beary drama “Nangalo Jamath” conducted by IFF Karnataka brothers & IFF Expo exhibition more highlighted.

Various sports & games for children, women and youths like Quiz, Tug of War, Race, Volleyball etc. are the another highlight of the event. The prizes were distributed to the winners.

In volleyball Puttur Riders placed winners & Bhankal comes runners & in tug of war ISF Riyadh become the winners & Puttur Riders comes in second place young businessman Mr. Usman Kunjatoor & Mr. Siddik Madikeri presents trophy’s both winners & runners.

Blossoms International School, Compass Ocean Logistics, AKA Industrial Services, Friendi Mobile, Fanar Al-Afouq Trading Est & Magnum Petroleum Jelly were the sponsors of the event.

Kuwait: State of Karnataka is enriched with Daasa culture, which had contributed immensely to its literature, culture, art & philosophy. Daasa tradition in Karnataka was part of the Bhakti movement which flourished from around 15th century and it extended considerable spiritual influence over the masses. Kuwait Kannada Koota, a socio-cultural association for the people of Karnataka in Kuwait, organized its annual Daasotsava on 14th February 2020 in remembrance of these saints, thereby displaying the rich cultural heritage of the state. 

The program started with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath, convener of cultural committee. Divine invocation prayer by Mrs. Vasantha Ashok and Mrs. Sandhya Arun set the trend for the event. This was followed by lighting of the traditional lamp by the 2020 executive committee, comprising of President Mr. Rajesh Vittal, Vice President Mr. Sandeep Chabba, General Secretary Mr. Praveen Kumar Shetty and Treasurer Mr. Pradeep Rao. President, while welcoming the gathering, spoke about the importance of Daasas in Kannada literature & history and briefed about the series of upcoming programs. Cultural programs started with fancy dress competition by Koota children comprising of all age group starting from infants to elder kids. This program stole the show as the efforts & time invested by children and their parents were clearly visible. 

2019 executive committee was felicitated by the current committee for wonderfully managing Koota affairs & programs. This was followed by the release of Koota magazine “Marala Mallige", comprising of informative articles, drawings, poems etc., entirely contributed by the association members. Event’s main attraction “Vrindavana Leelavarana", a colorful dance drama spectacularly portrayed by 54 Koota children, was very well appreciated & received by the attendees. Association children who successfully completed 10th and 12th were felicitated as a token of encouragement. Executive committee gave away prizes to Kids who excelled in the stage competitions held earlier. Audience was treated to a divine and melodious Bhajan program conducted astutely by the ladies & men. Koota women performed Bhajan Kolata, along with ladies bhajan, in a well-coordinated manner. Vote of thanks was proposed by the secretary of Koota, thanking those who contributed for the success of the event. Another attraction was a quiz competition “Rasa Prashne", conducted efficiently between the programs, by Mr. Mahesh Shiramgond. 

The whole event was planned and executed astutely by the cultural committee under the leadership of Convener, Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath. Public Relations Committee, led by Mrs. Suparna Dambal, welcomed the members in a vibrant & colorful way, showcasing a beautifully erected divine mantap. The event was sponsored by Unimoni, LIC HFL, VSPL, Geetherb, Kotak Life Insurance, Joy Alukkas, Lulu Hypermarket & Total Environment. The program ended with a sumptuous satvik lunch, sponsored by the senior Koota member, Mr. Ramachandran Seetharaman.

The Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC), Bahrain, has charted aircrafts to repatriate stranded expatriates to India. 

Boby Parayil, General Secretary, OICC National Committee, Bahrain has thanked all those who supported in this cause.

“The aircrafts were not licensed and were in crisis until the last minute. Finally, Mohammed Mansoor, president of Bahrain chapter of Indian Overseas Congress approached IOC Middle East in charge Dr Arathi Krishna, who helped get permission to operate flight to Kozhikode,” he said in a release. 

All mandatory approvals from the Foreign Ministry of Affairs and other government officials were accomplished by Dr Arathi Krishna. OICC has expressed gratitude to her for her timely support, he said. 

OICC is also grateful to former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy for doing necessary arrangements to get all the approvals for flight landing in Kerala, he added.

Dubai: A blood donation drive was conducted by Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) at in Al Wasl Club Stadium here on Friday, 26th June 2020.

The drive started around 1:00 pm and continued till 4:00 pm as per schedule provided by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Blood Donation Centre and 60 people donated blood to support the Blood Bank. The drive was well organised by maintaining social distance in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As blood cannot be produced but only can be donated, this drive will help many patients in need of blood during emergencies. Donors were also feeling proud and happy at this moment thinking of saving someone’s life.

DHA Blood Donation Centre staff carried out the screening and testing done in very well manner keeping social distancing during this pandemic. Volunteers of KSCC were also helping the staff to keep people in safe distance and to make this drive a success.

KSCC Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi and other office bearers were present at the event venue. KSCC thanked the volunteers, Community Development of Authority (CDA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Blood Donation Centre, Government of Dubai and Al Wasl Club Stadium for making the event successful.
