Under-19 and Under-16 cricketers selected for KSCA Academy coaching

Mangalore, April 6: Karnataka State Cricket Association Mangalore Zone has announced the list of Under-19 and Under-16 players selected for the KSCA Academy coaching camps.

The camps are scheduled to be held simultaneously in Mangalore, Manipal, Madikeri and Gonikoppa from April 9.

In Madikeri and Gonikoppa, more players will be selected before the start of the camp, a KSCA spokesperson said.

Many players could not attend the selection trials due to examinations in these areas.

Mangaluru, May 31: Karnataka BJP president MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has claimed that there has been no differences of opinion within the state BJP.

"The BJP-led government will complete its term under the leadership of B S Yediyurappa," Kateel told media persons in the city on Saturday.

“A few MLAs had met and discussed the developments in North Karnataka. There is nothing wrong in discussing development keeping in mind the party's interests.”

Indiscipline within the party will not be tolerated. Strict action will be initiated against those who indulge in such activities by the party High Command, he warned.

The government, led by Yediyurappa, has carried out good works in the state. All the MLAs are supporting the chief minister. All the MLAs are in contact with me, claimed Kateel.

Kasaragod, Jun 2: Kumbala police on Tuesday arrested 20 persons on charges of misbehaving and obstructing a medical team who were on official duty for Covid-19.

Police sources said the incident occurred at Kumbala beach near here on Monday evening when a group of locals misbehaved and obstructed an eight-member medical team, comprising of doctors and health workers, from carrying out a survey to asertain whether there has been a community spread of Covid-19 in that locality.

The health team was on a mission to gather data of people who had interacted with expatriates after they had returned to hometown recently.

Bengaluru, Aug 7: The results of Karnataka Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations will be announced on Monday, August 10.

Primary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar said, "The results will be announced at about 3 pm on August 10."

This year, over 8.50 lakh students appeared for the exams amidst the Covid-19 pandemic fear across the state.

The department conducted the exams successfully despite resistance from various quarters and pressure to postpone the exams.
