Mangalore, April 27: The water level in Thumbe dam across the River Netravathi which supplies drinking water to the city has been increasing due to the continuous rain in the region since last few days.
The maximum height of the dam is 13 foot. Water level at the dam stood at 11.4 ft. at 6 a.m. on Wednesday. Water level started increasing later because of rains in the catchment area and water started overflowing at midnight, K.S. Linge Gowda, Assistant Executive Engineer (Water Supply), Mangalore City Corporation, said.
“On Thursday the dam was almost full and overflowing. We have resumed regular water supply to all areas from Thursday and stopped supplying water through tankers,” he said.
