Mangalore, June 29: The OneCity Yellow Pages for the year 2012-13, published by OneCity Media Pvt Ltd, was launched on Friday.

D Dharmaiah, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mangalore City Commissionerate, formally released the directory at a press conference at Patrika Bhavan in the city.

L K Monu Borkala and SL Basheer, both directors of the firm were present on the occasion.

The company has been successfully publishing Yellow Pages directories and the latest is the sixth edition for Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.

The directory incorporates several user-friendly features like multi-colour Yellow Pages with information on dining, entertainment, leisure, tourist needs, education, personal finance and insurance, automobiles, real estate, beauty and health etc.

OneCity Yellow Pages contains over 35,000 businesses in different categories. It is user-friendly fast-find index to locate any product or service, said the directors.

OneCity Media will distribute the directories free of cost to all the businesses in Mangalore, Udupi, Puttur and some parts of Kasargod. Also, the directories can be collected from our office, they said.

Bengaluru, May 25: The 36-hour marathon lockdown call given by Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, passed off peacefully with people opting to remain inside their houses and cooperate with the state government to fight against spread of deadly Covid-19.

Though the call was only for 24 hours from 7 am (Sunday) to 7 am (Monday) another 12 hours was added to it as the night curfew was already in force from 7 pm on Saturday and the next day (Sunday) it continued till Monday up to 7 am.

Autorickshaws and bus service were off the road giving a tough time to people arriving from neighbouring places reach home that too during the night. Adding to their woes was heavy rain that lashed the city for more than two hours on Sunday evening flooding the streets.

Mangaluru, May 2:  Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Spokesperson P V Mohan on Saturday urged the district administration to find the source of coronavirus in Dakshina Kannada (DK) district.

He asked the district administration to ascertain from where a woman from Bantwal's Kasba contracted virus on April 19.

''We do not want to convert Dakshina Kannada into Nanjangud,'' Mr Mohan said referring to the mysterious case of Patient 52 from Nanjangud who has been identified as the main source of virus to the rest of the positive individuals in Nanjangud.

Bengaluru, Apr 2: About 1,500 people from Karnataka might have attended the Tablighi Jamaat event in Nizamuddin in the national capital between March 8 to 20. Of these, the State has been able to trace 800 people.
 
Of the 800 persons, 143 people have been found to be symptomatic.
 
Mr Jawaid Akhtar, Additional Chief Secretary (Health and Family Welfare), in a statement here on Thursday said that the Centre had sent the list of 1,500 people to the State.
 
“We cannot say if all these have attended the congregation. Some of them may have attended and some may be the contacts of those who have attended. We have been able to trace 800 from the list and samples of 143 symptomatic persons have been sent for tests."
