The other accused are Uday Hegde, proprietor of Nirman Constructions, Sudhakar Shetty, proprietor of Mugarodi Constructions, Varun and Preetam Devadiga, employees of Mugarodi Constructions, and Mr Rai’s personal assistant Densil Herman.

According to a complaint filed by Bantwal Tahsildar Sannalingaiah on March 3, 2019, Income Tax sleuths raided the office of Sudhakar Shetty of Mugarodi Constructions in 2018 and seized Rs. 22 lakh in cash on May 8, 2018.
