Temple priest arrested for stealing ornaments offered by devotees

Mangaluru, Jul 23: The Kukke Subrahmanya police arrested the priest of Shankhapala Temple in Yenekal in Sullia Taluk on the charge of stealing ornaments offered by the devotees.

preistThe jurisdictional court handed over the accused to the police custody on Saturday.

An official release gave the name of the accused as Murali Venkatesh, son of H. Subrahmanya Bhat, a native of Sullia Taluk, who was presently residing at the temple.

According to a complaint from temple in-charge administrator Monappa, the ornaments including 32 gold finger rings and one gold chain were found missing between February 2 and July 15 from the safe locker of the temple, which is also famous for Ullalthi Bachchanayaka Daiva.

After the complaint was lodged, the priest, along with his family, were absconding and a special police team secured him from Bengaluru, the release said.

The accused priest had pledged some of the valuables at neighbouring villages and had sold some others.

Priest are good in earning money by fooling people.

whenever they get failure to fool people then start stealing ornaments from idols.
They knows that idols doesnt need ornaments.

Bengaluru, Mar 24: The usually busy and bustling city of Bengaluru wore a deserted look on Tuesday as Karnataka went into total lockdown, with the exception being the emergency services, to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday had announced a complete lockdown in the state till April 1.
"In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, the entire state will be locked down from 12 am of March 23 to April 1. People are requested to strictly follow it to contain the coronavirus spread," Yediyurappa said.
Earlier, the Karnataka government had ordered the suspending of all public and private transport services.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of positive cases of COVID-19 in India have risen to 491.

Udupi, May 24: As many as 23 people tested positive for coronavirus in Udupi in past 24 hours, according to the latest bulletin released by the health and family welfare department.

While 18 were tested positive till noon, five more tested postive by evening.

With this the total number of covid-19 cases in the district rose to 76 including a death. Three have recovered. There 72 active cases.

Among 23 fresh cases, many had reportedly come from Maharashtra. A 44-year-old woman had returned from UAE. A 26-year-old man returned from Telangana.

Bengaluru, Jan 5: BJP leader and Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa once again blamed the Congress of creating 'confusion' among the Muslim community over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act-2019 while launching a door to door campaign to dispel such rumors.

Yediyurappa was on a door-to-door campaign to make people aware of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and to allay their fears.

"Unnecessarily, the members of Congress are creating confusion among the Muslim community. I assure you that not a single Muslim will be affected because of CAA," said B. S. Yediyurappa.

"Almost all previous Prime Ministers have supported it, now Congress is creating a problem so as to create confusion among Muslims. That's why we are out on the door-to-door campaign," he said.

The Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019, seeks to grant Indian citizenship to Hindu, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist and Parsi refugees from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh and who entered India on or before December 31, 2014.
