Kasargod, Dec 22: At least ten Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers, including the party's SC/ST Morcha president P. Sudheer, were injured after a group of persons, allegedly Communist Party of India (Marxist) workers, attacked them at Cheemeni town on Wednesday. Two police personnel were also injured in the attack.

clashThe attack came as Mr. Sudheer was addressing a meeting in connection with the demonetisation of high-value currency notes. A police team, led by Cheemeni SI M.Sreedharan, tried to disperse the crowd. In the melee, Mr. Sreedharan and constable Shaju suffered injuries.

The injured BJP workers were admitted to a hospital at Ramnagar in Kanhangad.

Mr. Sudheer, a lawyer, had held talks with the displaced tribesmen of Malathumpara Colony at Periye, who were on a hunger strike in front of the Central University of Kerala seeking jobs for those who had to vacate their land for the university.

The local CPI(M) leadership, including K. Kunhiramaan, MLA, had been insisting that the university provide jobs to one of the eligible family members who had to vacate their land for the university. Sources here said Mr. Sudheer's talks with the tribespeople explaining the difficulties in acceding to their demands led to the attack, sources said.

The police have registered cases under various IPC sections in connection with the attack.

Three injured

In a separate incident, three youths were injured, one seriously, in a clash involving two groups at Cherkala, near Kasargod.

Those injured were identified as Noufal, 24, Muhammed Hashim, 22, and Abdul Shihab, 25.

While the seriously injured Noufal was rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru, the others were being treated at the General Hospital here, a senior officer at the Vidhanagar police station said.

The incident followed an altercation over bathing in a stream at Edaneer earlier in the day, the police said. Kasaragod Town SI K. Ajith Kumar sustained injuries after he fell into a ditch while giving chase to youths allegedly involved in the clash.

The police have taken two youths into custody in connection with the incident.

Frustrated BJP is trying for public disturbance all over india and particularly in Kerala. Police should take harsh action on these goondas and arrest them. These are jobless goons and are trying to loot from public property by creating disturbance. I appreciate kerala police for taking appropriate action against this anti nationals.

New Delhi, Feb 20: Microsoft has begun testing its free open-source software called "ElectionGuard" in a small Wisconsin town in the US that aims to make voting more secure, verifiable and efficient.

"ElectionGuard" will enable end-to-end verification of elections, open results to third-party organisations for secure validation, and allow individual voters to confirm their votes were correctly counted.

It enables government entities, news outlets, human rights organisations or anyone else to build additional verifiers that independently can certify election results have been accurately counted and have not been altered, according to the company.

The software would create a paper trail and assure voters their votes were properly tallied.

"On Tuesday, Fulton residents are using the technology while choosing who will join the local school board and hold a seat on Wisconsin's state Supreme Court," reports CNBC.

With the test, the company aims to see if voters like the experience and make sure everything works fine.

In May last year, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced "ElectionGuard".

According to Tom Burt, Corporate Vice President, Customer Security and Trust, voting system manufacturers will be free to build ElectionGuard into their systems in a variety of ways.

"These are exciting steps that enable individual voters to confirm their vote was properly counted, and assures those voters using an ElectionGuard system of the most secure and trustworthy vote in the history of the US," Burt said in a recent blog post.

"ElectionGuard" is not intended to replace paper ballots but rather to supplement and improve systems that rely on them, and it is not designed to support internet voting.

The software provides each voter a tracker with a unique code that can be used to follow an encrypted version of the vote through the entire election process via a web portal provided by election authorities.

During the process of vote-casting, voters have an optional step that allows them to confirm that their trackers and encrypted votes accurately reflect their selections.

But once a vote is cast, neither the tracker nor any data provided through the web portal can be used to reveal the contents of the vote.

After the election is complete, the tracker codes can be used by voters to confirm that their votes were not altered or tampered with and that they were properly counted, said Microsoft.

On the security front, "ElectionGuard" uses something called homomorphic encryption - which enables mathematical procedures "like counting - to be done with fully encrypted data".

Bengaluru, Jan 29: The Karnataka unit of BJP has urged the Centre and the State governments to ban the Popular Front of India (PFI) and the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), accusing them of harbouring terrorist tendencies.

Addressing a press meet, N Ravi Kumar, state general secretary of the party, alleged that there was a nexus between the Congress, the PFI and the SDPI.

“Recent reports have exposed the links between the PFI and the Congress,” he said, accusing Congress leader Kapil Sibal of receiving huge funds from PFI to defend their cases in the Supreme Court.

He also accused the organisations as the ones responsible for the death of 23 Hindu activists in Karnataka. Such incidents have proven that both SDPI and PFI are dubious organisations, he said.

PFI is the first kind of organization which is doing community work in all the walks of life.

and providing the helping hands to all the Indian community doing marvelous job.

this is the first organization fighting against corrupt and injustice following the principle of our father of nation mahatma Gandhi’s.

the corrupt and injustice people in the society not ready to accept their policy and trying to stop the voices of justice to the society.

I wish PFI and its sub organizations will continue to support to the society and keep the good work so that people are with you.

RSS is the most active and first ever terrorist organisation in India and it should be banned first.    There is no proof of terrorist activities by SDPI and PFI.    BJP is afraid of these organisations as they give tought resistance to BJP and this is the reason why its planning to ban these organisations.    BJP is doing propoganda only.   Real thread for peace + harmoney in India by sanghis.   We should ban them first.
