Shareef Ullal, who had committed the heinous crime under the influence of alcohol on April 29, has reportedly repented for his crime and apologized to the saddened family.

Even though police had detained Shareef Ullal after he destroyed the grave stones of Late UT Fareed and Late Naseema Fareed near Ullal Dargah, later he was related as family members of Mr Khader refused to lodge a formal complaint against him.

According to sources, the accused contacted a family member of Mr Khader over phone and confessed that someone had given him money to consume alcohol and commit the crime.

It is learnt that Mr Khader advised the accused to abstain from alcohol and drugs and to give good education to the latter's children.

Following this, Shareef put up a banner near Ullal hailing Mr Khader and his family. Meanwhile images of Shareef kissing the minister's photo on the banner is going viral on WhatsApp and other social media.

However, Mr Khader ordered for the immediate removal of the same banner in the wake of plastic ban.

Mangaluru, Jan 9: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner has lodged a complaint with the Police alleging that his signature was forged in a holiday circular for schools and colleges in the district during National General Strike called by Trade Unions.

It may be recalled that the district administration had declared a holiday for all educational institutions on December 20 and 21 in the backdrop of the December 19 violence.

A few miscreants had forged this order and circulated it on social media stating that a holiday had been declared for schools and colleges in the district on January 8.
