Bizman arrested for watching porn on Mumbai-bound flight

Mumbai, Feb 15: A 43-year-old businessman travelling on an Indigo flight from Kolkata to Mumbai was arrested by the airport police for allegedly watching porn in front of an air hostess twice. The air hostess as well as her woman supervisor caught him and complained of obscenity in a public place.

BizmanAccording to the airport police, the incident took place at 10pm on Saturday when the accused, who runs a small business of selling marble and granite, was travelling on a 8.20pm flight from Kolkata, which was to land in Mumbai at 11pm.

The accused was travelling in the economy class and the passengers sitting next to him were asleep. He first asked a 26-year-old woman crew member to bring him water, the police said.

When she brought it to him, she saw him watching porn on his mobile phone, the police said. He then allegedly asked her to bring hot water. When she returned, she saw he was still watching porn on the mobile phone with the screen turned towards her, the police said. She ascertained he was deliberately showing it to her, the police said. She alerted her woman supervisor, who went up to him and allegedly also saw him watching the clips.

The supervisor alerted the pilot after which their Delhi office was informed, the police said. Their internal security detained him and alerted the airport police, which comes under the Mumbai police. The accused deleted all the videos before he was formally arrested because of which the police have charged him with evidence tampering.

The 26-year-old woman lodged an FIR on Sunday under section 354 A (3) (showing pornography against the will of a woman), 294 (obscene act in public place) and 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence) of the IPC.

The accused told the police he did not commit the crime on purpose. The cops have seized his mobile phone and have sent it to the FSL to retrieve the clips. He was arrested and produced before a magistrate court that sent him to judicial custody.

Mathura, Jul 22: A local court in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura on Wednesday sentenced 11 policemen, including the then Deputy Superintendent of Police, to life imprisonment in a case pertaining to the murder of royal Raja Man Singh in 1985.

District Judge Sadhana Rani Thakur announced the life imprisonment sentence a day after holding them guilty of the killing. Three policemen were, however, acquitted. Four men died during the trial.

The policemen were convicted under Section 302 (murder), 148 (rioting) and 149 (Every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) of the Indian Penal Code.

The verdict comes 35 years after Man Singh was killed. He, along with two others, was shot dead in police firing a day after he crashed his jeep into the then Rajasthan Chief Minister Shiv Charan Mathur's helicopter in a fit of anger.

Bengaluru, Jun 7: A 27-year-old man was allegedly killed using deadly weapons by unidentified people here, police said.

The incident took place at deceased, Arvind's rented house in LBS Nagar inside HAL police station limits.

According to police, Arvind is an accused in a criminal case and recently walked out of jail on bail.

Thane, Jul 19: A 34-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly killing his wife after picking up a fight as he did not like the food she cooked, Thane police said.

Sachin Godane, a resident of Gaikwad Pada in Ambernath, locked his two children and an aunt in one room of the house on Friday afternoon and brutally beat up his wife Chandrakala (28) with a log and then strangled her, said Assistant Inspector JB Bhoyer of Shivajinagar police station.

Godane has been remanded in police custody for four days, he added.
