Cops nab two for cattle transportation; seize vehicle, five animals

Mangaluru, Sep 19: Two cattle transporters including an elderly man were arrested near Nekkiladi, under Uppinangady police station, here on Saturday night.

cattletransport The arrested have been identified as Umar (63), a resident of Chennarayapatna and Shareef (20) from Bantwal. Police have seized their vehicle along with five cattle.

According to police the two were transporting cattle without proper documents. Police personnel who were on night patrolling questioned the duo and found that the cattle were transported illegally from Hassan to Mangaluru.

They have been booked under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 and sent to judicial custody. A case has been registered at Uppinangady police station.

recently i have seen one video of india bangladesh border illegal transhport, how they inhumanly hang cow and throwing one border to another border, always just learn that every life has a pain, in this life time if u cant save the animals pls dont hurt them.

Stupid people still they do not know RSS cops what they are looking for, If they could have offered a plate of Mutton Biriyani and Rs.100/- for the Police they would have released on the spot.

Shivamogga, Jun 13: Senior BJP leader and Karnataka Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, K S Eshwarappa on Saturday opined that during the selection of candidates to the legislative council, the party needs to take into consideration those who helped the party in formation of government in the State.

Speaking to media persons on the sideline of a programme here, he said the party high command would give another surprise while issuing tickets during the MLC election.

Mr Eshwrappa said that party high command will take a call on selecting candidates, but priority should be given to the leader who won on Congress and Janata Dal and then jumped to BJP which helped to form govt under the leadership of B S Yediyurappa.

DK Shivakumar finally receives govt nod for swearing-in event

Bengaluru, Jun 11: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Thursday allowed the Opposition Congress party's newly elected state president DK Shivakumar to have a formal swearing-in function.

He told media, “I have spoken to Shivakumar and informed him to conduct the event after taking precautionary measures against the spread of the COVID-19 disease”.

The move came after the state government received flak from the main Opposition Congress leaders, for refusing to permit the newly elected State Congress president to have a formal swearing-in function take reigns from his predecessor Dinesh Gundu Rao.

Mangaluru: Thousands travel from Ullal to join anti-CAA protest in Kasba Bengre

Mangaluru, Jan 21: Thousands of people today boarded boats from Ullal's Kotepura to join a massive protest against the amended Citizenship Act and National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Kasba Bengre, here.

People traveling through boats and steamers decorated with national flags, raised slogans during their journey through the river.

The innovative mode of transportation was used by the protestors to reach the venue, as it not only saved time but was also more convenient for the fishermen, a large number of people from this community joined the protest.

The protestors docked their boats at the shore and reached the venue chanting slogans of azadi.
