IFF Organizes 4

Jeddah, Sep 22: Hajj Volunteer Service is a three month process for India Fraternity Forum (IFF) every Hajj season. IFF service starts with the distribution of 'Hajj Handbook', which is handed out in six major Indian languages to the pilgrims before they leave for Hajj from the home country.

In Saudi Arabia the volunteers start their assistance with the arrival of the first flight in Jeddah, Madeena and Makkah as well.

In Makkah pilgrims are helped to reach their accommodation. The Inspirational experience of serving people during Hajj has increased the number of volunteers participating in the service.

IFF had to limit the number of volunteers due to constraints in accommodating them; this year more than 1000 volunteers served the purpose.

Volunteers were Indian expatriate from eleven states speaking major Indian languages. They include volunteers from Yanbu and Jeddah.

The airport authority of Jeddah has issued entry permit to Hajj Terminal for IFF volunteers to receive the pilgrims at their arrival and to facilitate the same service upon their departure as well.

For the third consecutive years IFF women volunteers also will take part to assist women pilgrims. They will provide service to the female pilgrims in the tents, especially old pilgrims of above 70 years.

Mina service continues from Dhulhajj 7 to 13 late evening till the last Indian pilgrim leaves the Mina tents.

IFF is getting tremendous support from Consulate General of India and its affiliates like Indian Pilgrims Welfare Forum (IPWF). IPWF has been coordinating the volunteer service and this year IFF designed the map for the Mina operations as per the instructions of CG.

Consulate has printed and distributed copies of this map to guide the stranded pilgrims. IFF provides adequate training to all of its volunteers in different languages.

Unlike past, this year IFF volunteers were provided with accommodation by the Consulate. IPWF has been distributing bottled water for the pilgrims while returning from Haram and they worked hard to guide the pilgrims and to give awareness on performing Hajj.

Volunteers guide the Indian pilgrims to their accommodation in Aziziah and help them by providing financial support and arrange re-imbursement of the amount, if there a loss of money.

The Saudi Government is improving the facilities for Hajj in order to assist the pilgrims and make their pilgrimage comfortable one.

The growing number of old aged pilgrims has made the volunteer service an imperative and more organized one.

IFF has formed special teams for Tent service, Field Service, Medical assistance, Logistics, Crisis Management and Public Relations for their Hajj service operations in Mina.

Entire Hajj service operation of the Forum is supervised by JanabMudassar, Karnataka (Chief Coordinator), Janab Abdul Ravoof (Vice Coordinator), Mohammed Ali Kerala (General Captain), C.V Ashraf (Logistics), Amir Sultan tamilnadu (Media), JanabNazeerfarookhisiddiq Andhra Pradesh, JanaabIrshad Ahmed Uttar Pradesh, Janab Sheikh Joyeel West Bengal, Janaab Mohammed ShajidBihar,Janaab Mohammed Anisuddin Maharashtra, Makka In charge Janaab Abdul Gaffer Kerala and Madinaa In charge Janaab Mohammed Musthafa Kerala appointed as member of executive committee.

Abu Dhabi: Yogish Prabhu K is the newly elected president of Abu Dhabi’s prestigious India Social & Cultural Centre (ISC) and he will serve for the period 2020-2021. ISC’s annual general body meeting and Election for 2020 were held on Thursday, February 27 and the election results of the election were announced during the early hours of Friday, February 28th morning.

In the keenly contested election, Yogish Prabhu emerged victorious. Humble origin and hailing from a small town of Karkala from Udupi district of Karnataka state has never deterred him from setting challenging goals. He belongs to a well-known Gouda Saraswat Brahmin family of K.V.Prabhu Coconut oil mill in Karkala. He is the eldest son of Late Rtn. Krishna Prabhu and Rtn. Bharati Prabhu.  His father and grandfather were freedom fighters who left a profound impression on him and their ideology “serving people is like worshiping God” (Jana seveye Janardhana seve) inspired and guided his life ever since. Prabhu has been a privilege member of ISC since 2003 and has been actively involved in ISC activities throughout. His relationship with ISC spans over 2 decades during which he has immensely contributed in many ways to ISC and the Indian community at large. A banker by profession, Yogish Prabhu is currently working as Vice President, Group Finance & Treasury, First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB).

With some new initiatives in his mind, Prabhu wants to creatively improve the quality of ISC’s services, its humanitarian impact as well as the diversity of its membership. His intentions are always to help everyone irrespective of caste, creed, religion, language or status. As a new elected President of ISC, Prabhu’s main objective is to strategically plan and implement his vision through his ABC 5 Year Plan i.e.,

A-    Accountability & Transparency,

B-    Build a Sound Financial Plan and

C-    Compassion & Affection for the needy

so that ISC is recognized not just in UAE, but worldwide as a mascot of the great Indian community.

Prabhu thinks “as individuals, we can do only so much but with the support of Elected ISC Committee members and all the ISC members together, there is no limit to what we can achieve, and in the process, we can truly transform the ISC”. He proudly says, “I have a strong treasury management experience in ISC as well as in the bank which we need now more than ever”.

With his dynamic leadership, sheer dedication and ambition, ISC will definitely be scaling new heights of glory and prestige in Abu Dhabi and beyond. His humble nature, leadership qualities coupled with his rich administrative experience will surely help boost ISC’s popularity and meet its challenging goals and can serve people in a better way and contribute to the Indian community at large.

April 16,2020

Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.
