Mangaluru, Mar 4: Congress supremo Rahul Gandhi, who recently toured Hyderabad-Karnataka and Mumbai-Karnataka, is expected to visit coastal districts of Karnataka in third week of March.

MLC Ivan D'Souza on Saturday told media persons here that Rahul will tour undivided Dakshina Kannada district on March 20 and 21. The exact schedule is expected to be out within a week.

Mr D'Souza accused the BJP of instigating disturbances in the state. The BJP should introspect on the law and order situation in Karnataka when the BJP had been in power. The BJP leaders should also clarify on the purpose of Jana Suraksha Yathre-Mangaluru Chalo rally, he demanded.

"The BJP leaders are frustrated and well aware that the BJP will not come to power in Karnataka in the upcoming Assembly elections. Hence, they are engaged in hate politics by raising irrelevant issues and making false allegations against the Congress-led state government," he said.

The MLC said that the Congress has tweeted 10 questions to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issues of reduction in export, loan waiver, failure to announce support price to groundnut growers of Karnataka, step motherly attitude towards distributing grants to take up drought relief works and reduction in farm produce in the country.

The Modi-government that speaks so much against corruption has failed to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill in the Parliament, he said.

What's the point? Congress should really think about change of leadership if they want to survive in the future. Even christians and muslims in Mangalore are talking of supporting BJP, because "development". Don't know what's going on in their head.

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 28: A man from Kerala was among the terrorists affiliated to Islamic State (IS) who allegedly attacked a Gurdwara in Kabul earlier this week in which 27 people were killed.

The IS has claimed that one of the suicide bombers was Abu Khalid al-Hindi.

According to sources, investigation agencies on Friday have identified him as 29-year-old Mohammed Sajid Kuthirummal of Padne in Kasargod. He was among the 14 persons, who left from Kerala to join IS in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

"IS had released the name Abu Khalid al-Hindi through its media agency soon after the attack. The photograph of him holding a rifle was also published by IS in their propaganda magazine Al Naba. From that, we have identified the person as Mohammed Sajid Kuthirummal. We are investigating the matter and in touch with the investigating agencies in Afghanistan for tracking his trail," sources told ANI.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe had earlier revealed that Mohammed Sajid was recruited by Abdul Rashid Abdulla of Chandera, who was killed in Afghanistan last year.

Sajid worked as a shop keeper in a gulf country and returned to Kerala. Based on a complaint by Sajid's father Mahamood, the FIR was registered at Chendara Police Station, Kasaragod in 2016 regarding Sajid joining IS and leaving for Afghanistan.

He was among the 14 member team that left from Kerala to join IS in Khorasan Province' in Nangarhar.

ANI had earlier reported that two of these members Ayesha alias Sonia Sebastian and Fathima alias Nimisha who were in IS had expressed their interest in returning to Kerala. Out of 14, seven including Sajid is dead.

New Delhi, Mar 12: A PIL was moved in the Delhi High Court on Thursday seeking directions to the Centre to take appropriate steps for stopping religious conversion of socially and economically downtrodden people, particularly of the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe community.

The plea claims that the government has done nothing to stop religious conversions.

The plea is listed before a bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice C Hari Shankar on Friday.

The petition, by BJP leader and lawyer Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay, alleges that many individuals, NGOs and institutions are converting downtrodden persons by "intimidating, threatening, luring by monetary benefits and by other acts, including miracle healing, black magic and more".

"Many individuals/organizations have started conversions of SC/STs in rural areas and the situation is very alarming. The mass religious conversion of the socially economically downtrodden men, women and children, and, in particular of the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe community, is on the rise in the last 20 years," the petition claims.

It further claims as per the 2011 census, Hindus constitute 79 per cent of the population down from 86 per cent in 2001 and if no action is taken "Hindus will become minority in India".

Upadhyay suggested enacting of a law to prevent conversions by force or deceit and to award jail term for any violation.

"Additionally, the State may empower the National Human Rights Commission to deal with the affairs of religious groups and analyse religious discrimination among them," he suggests.

Apart from seeking steps to prevent religious conversions by force, threats or deceit, the petition also wants directions prohibiting religious gatherings "intended to mislead people by making false and untenable claims" to lure ignorant masses to join a particular faith or religious group.

First of all we should know what is religion and what is its purpose.

Religion should be scientific to acceptance. It should not be blind tale.

Religion is a set of divine commands how to lead the life to be successful here and also it should lead to success if there is a life after the death.

If it can assure, we should not worry to accept. Such religion can not be more than 1.  Because we all believe 1 Supreme God who has the control over every creature. If we understand and accept it, then we should accept 1 and only religion which is the real religion.

You can not force anybody to accept 2+2=5.

If religion can prove its doctrine to be not contradicting the science then no worry to accept it.

There should be open debate of all religions then the truth will come in black and white clearly.

Leave the panel to decide which is the right one. Once proved, brave people will accept it without fear.

No need any law. If you have good product why do you worry to sell it.
