Will convince mutt seers to call off agitation for separate state: Yeddy

Bengaluru, Jul 30: BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa, on Monday, stated that he will visit Belagavi on Tuesday and convince the heads of various mutts to call off their agitation for a separate North Karnataka state.

In a press statement, Yeddyurappa blamed Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for the current unrest in North Karnataka.

He referred to the issue wherein, Kumaraswamy reportedly told North Karnataka farmers that they had no moral right to demand crop loan waiver because they had not voted for JD(S) in the Assembly polls.

Kumaraswamy was trying to divide the state for the sake of power and survival, Yeddyurappa stated.

The BJP always stood for a united Karnataka and at no cost will it support the division of the state, Yeddyurappa stated.

Politician considering power as a job. If they have power/came into power, they will use and do temporary solution. If they are not ruling, they dont have any loyalty towards people. They will put everything on ruling govt, sit back, enjoys and most of the time makes the situation worst to get attention towards them, like Yeddy doing now

Mysuru, Jan 12: Karnataka Minister for Primary and Secondary Education S Suresh Kumar on Saturday said that the State government is planning to introduce 'Bag less Day’ in a week from next Academic year across the State.

He said that the State government is also working out on reducing the weight of the School bags carried by children.

The Minister was speaking after inaugurating ‘Civic sense is my duty – Questioning is my right’ programme organised at Kautilya Vidyalaya in Kanakadasanagar here.

Bengaluru, Mar 14: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Saturday suspended its proposed Akil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) meeting scheduled to be held in the outskirts of the city, in the wake of the outbreak of Coronavirus in the state.

'In view of the seriousness of the pandemic COVID-19 and in the light of instructions and advisories thereof issues by the Union and the state governments, the Akil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha meeting scheduled in Bengaluru has been suspended', Sarakaryavah Suresh Joshi tweeted.

All Swayamsevaks should cooperate with the administrations to create awareness among the public and to face this successfully, he said.

It may be recalled that Karnataka State Government had ordered shut down of pubs, malls, theatres, and ban mass gatherings over the Coronavirus scare, on Friday.

Kalaburagi, Mar 9: As the International Women's Day was celebrated all across the globe, the Department of Post inaugurated the first-ever all-women-employees operating post office here in Kalaburagi.

"Today, we have declared the Jagat Post Office under the Kalaburagi district as women's post office. From today onwards, women staff is going to work here exclusively," CG Kamble, Assistant Superintendent, Post Office, told media.

One of the employees of the post office inaugurated on Monday said: "We are happy that we can work freely as all the employees here are women. Similarly, the government must also take steps to identify one of the offices in the state as only women employees' office."
